I’ve been going to Hachi Sushi for about 8 years, and it still gives that authentic Japanese taste every single time. My go to is chicken teriyaki ( yeah I’m basic ) perfectly cooked, flavorful not doused in salt… miso soup hits perfect on cold days and I love that salad with steamed veggies and that yellow sauce don’t know what it is but it’s delicious
The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, though their prime time is 6:30 pm to 8pm Friday and Saturday so definitely call ahead for a reservation. They are BYoB, which is awesome because there’s a liquor store across the street. Their Sushi is top notch super fresh and balanced. If you want that Japanese taste without the plane ticket try out Hachi. They closed mondays so plan ahead . Their take out is also fast because I like to eat at my own home because I can walk here lol and I believe they do uber as well or some sort of other delivery service because I know the Linwood plaza can get crazy.
The sushi is always fresh, delicious, and presented with great care. The sashimi is incredibly tender and just melts in your mouth. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and really knows their stuff—they make you feel welcome every time.
One of the best perks is that it’s BYOB, and there’s a wine store conveniently right across the street. Just remember, they’re closed on Mondays. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving high-quality, authentic sushi. Can’t wait to come back again!
– this place is CRISPY KARTEL CERTIFIED
Now, onto the food, I bought a shrimp tempura roll and miso soup. The shrimp tempura rolls were the best tempura rolls I’ve EVER had. The deep umami was perfect, and when I accented it with the spicy mayo sauce, it had an EXPLOSION of flavor in my mouth from the savory flavor to the rich umami. The roe eggs were also a pleasant surprise to come across when I opened the bag, and when I tell you that the sushi had EXCELLENT picked garlic, I tell you, even the condiments were made well.
Finally, we have the miso soup. While I LOVE miso soup, I never end up finishing the soup until the next day, but this time, it was so good I did!!! The delicious flavor of the broth was VERY well crafted, while the seaweed and other condiments on the miso soup was delicious, the food was an incredible experience.
Finally, we have the actual atmosphere. It was a very quiet, calm, serene place, definitely a hidden gem. I was surprised to not see anyone else, but nevertheless, it was one of the most cleanest restaurants I’ve ever seen. If I could go back to the place again, I absolutely would. This is a gem I did not expect to find!
One of the standout aspects of this restaurant was the great price. Despite the exceptional quality of the sushi, the menu offered affordable options that catered to various budgets. It was refreshing to enjoy such high-caliber sushi without breaking the bank. The value for money was truly remarkable.
Overall, I highly recommend this sushi restaurant.
The meal began with the miso soup, which was a testament to the kitchen’s commitment to fundamentals—a perfectly balanced, comforting start that executed exactly what it promised.
The subsequent sushi course maintained this level of quality. The volcano roll was a highlight, demonstrating a masterful technique. Its crispy ratio was complementary and precise, providing a delightful textural contrast without overwhelming the fresh ingredients. Following this, the black dragon roll, an established classic, was expertly prepared and did not disappoint, cementing its status as an all-time favorite.
While the culinary and environmental elements were superb, a minor adjustment to the dining environment could enhance the overall experience. The current music volume is perhaps a touch too subdued. A slightly louder ambient track would be beneficial in masking surrounding conversations, allowing for a more intimate and focused dining experience.
In summary, the food here is undeniably amazing, offering skillful execution of both classic and specialty rolls. This is a highly recommended destination, and I definitely will be back.
For a mid-to-high range sushi place, it was also surprising that no miso soup or salad was included. The sashimi was okay, but the overall quality has definitely gone down compared to before.
Sadly, we won’t be craving sushi again anytime soon.
Hachi, a local Japanese eatery, offers an authentic sashimi and sushi experience with exceptionally fresh seafood that’s hard to find elsewhere nearby Nee York. Their fish and rolls are beautifully presented, reflecting true Japanese culinary artistry. The kitchen thoughtfully adjusts flavors to create dishes suitable for everyday dining, with less salt and milder tastes. I highly recommend their elephant clam and oyster dishes. The elephant clam is sliced generously, unlike the thin portions served at many other Asian restaurants, and the sauce for the oyster perfectly enhances its natural sweetness, bringing out the essence of the sea.
