Absolutely knocked it out of the park. Was such a pleasure to work with! They came set-up, served and cleaned up for a large (150 people) birthday party. We even had a time delay and they were able to pivot and get us back on track with their service. Food was great! I’m even eating some leftovers (which I generally don’t do) but the green beans and mashed potatoes w/gravy are to die for! Highly recommend

They catered my wedding with no issues and I had compliments on the food. The owners are very nice and they had a very reasonable price.

Needed to stop for some form of food as I drove back to Michigan. This BBQ came to the rescue!!
It’s a little off the beaten path if you’re driving through Palestine, but TOTALLY worth it.
I’m pretty picky on my BBQ: always need a couple of slices of marbled tender brisket, smoky bbq sauce, and a baked potato. But WOW, this place though!!
As a Dallas native, I approve and highly recommend this joint. Pricing was very reasonable and the waitress was patient as I inquired which sides had pork in it.
FYI, Pork is in the fried green beans, baked beans, potato salad, and dirty rice.
Popular locals spot. The owner was extremely friendly, and stopped by every once in awhile to check up on everyone without feeling pushy.
Best part: THE BBQ SAUCE! Get yo’self a huge jar for cheap(!) cause I won’t be sharing mine.
Don’t forget dessert. There’s too many options for me to list. All made in house!!

Wonderful BBQ and amazing service. Would drive out of my way again to come here. Be sure to try their Buttermilk Pecan Pie.

Out of the way, but worth the trip. Carlos and his friendly
staff run a first rate Texas bbq joint. The ribs are excellent, the Rump Buster sandwich is a beast, lots of delicious sides, like okra, potato salad, or fried corn on the cob, and fantastic pies and cakes. They also have wonderful gumbo and fried catfish.

Great place to eat. We had brisket, turkey, sausage, gumbo, fried okra, pinto beans, and French fries. The fries were from a frozen bag and a bit disappointing. The okra looked like it might have been, too, but it tasted pretty good. Everything else was fantastic! The sausage and bbq sauce were like I had never had before- very unique to the restaurant. The brisket had a beautiful smoke ring and decent bark. The pinto beans were amazing! The gumbo was some of the best we had ever had. The name is Rump’s and the image is the backside of a pig, but they don’t have pulled pork anywhere in the menu. I thought I was going to get some great pulled pork only to be disappointed that it was not even offered.

Best smoked BBQ I’ve had in a good while. Just a small town place that knows how to do it right. They don’t skimp on portions. Open 2 days a week but worth the wait. Homemade desserts too. We dined in but had to do take out too it was so good. Enjoyed it the next day. We were a group of 12 & everyone happy.

Great food, awesome servers and owners. You won’t leave hungry and you’ll be glad you came. Love the fried catfish, grilled catfish, grilled salmon and steak. Green beans, potato salad and fried okra are delicious! And if you’re still hungry, try the lemon icebox pie….
