My mother and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We both got the lunch bar and it was some of the worst cooked food I have ever eaten. The tomatoes in the vinegar salad had gone bad, one shredded pork dish we never could figure out what it was supposed to be, and the fried shrimp had the consistency of thick custard on the inside of the breading. The waitress / staff was very friendly.

O.M.GOSH! We ordered out of the menu breakfast. They sent us egg’s, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. The hash browns were % ‘cold’ served. Next the waitress was cleaning up our table while we were clearly eating our food.

First time at any Shoney’s. The service was good, the place was empty on a Wednesday night at 7:00pm. I thought the food might be like a Denny’s, I was right. Presentation was good, food was average, the fries were way undercooked. Given it’s in Pigeon Forge, the tax is higher, not sure if prices in general are higher too. In the end, not good enough for the price. We tried their cookie skillet. A little smaller than the menu suggested/looked, but it was good. Probably the best part of all of our meals.

After reading some of the reviews on google, I was reluctant to try this place, but I am glad I did. The parking lot was pretty empty (7 cars not including the 3 we drove), but we still decided to continue. The free lollipops were great for the kids, and we were seated by a nice waiter fairly quick. We got our drinks and orders in within 8 minutes of sitting down, and most of our party went to the buffet (I decided not to because of the reviews and lack of foods I wanted). The only complaint I heard was the chili was bad, which turned out to be vegetable soup. The Alfredo I ordered was the right noodle/sauce/chicken ratio, and my only complaint was the chicken was a bit dry, but not too dry. Overall the food service and atmosphere were good, although I would recommend coming on one of the ‘good’ days where the food is fresh.

Staff was okay, get back to that. Went to the buffet, food was old. Lettuce was terrible, cheese tasted moldy. Lunch was just being brought out, food looked like yesterday’s left overs. Pull a breakfast pan, and just slam another one in its place. Hashbrowns stuck to the surface. Just simply dirty. And this is what gets me the most as I refused to pay as we didn’t eat but 2 bites, and didn’t drink anything server states she was sorry, I stated no you are not. If you was concerned about it you would be over there cleaning and helping instead of 4 of you just standing around. Her response was, well I am just a server…..get out of here. Everyone knows the phrases, got time to lean got time to clean, there is no I in team. There was maybe 6 people in the restaurant. We went to our go to place Golden Corral, just thought we would try this instead, never been to one, and won’t be again. And b4 I get a response from corporate, don’t just use the usual that is posted to everyone if you really care. Ralph Griggs

First time coming to a shonys, and it was enjoyed. I came here around 5 on Thanksgiving, it was well packed. Okay food, though the fried catfish was amazing. You’ll find many country buffets like this around the south, but only some are good like this one. Good experience, would come again.

This was possible the worst buffet ever… powdered eggs. Everything swimming in water…most items tasted like they were thawed and refrozen every night ….random items like old chicken fried rice and tomatoes in the fruit bar….it was just unpleasant. Waiter and staff very nice tho.

Waitress was great, atmosphere seemed good, like a fun place, but the food was horrible, the buffet was filled with old and empty food, not fresh. When you order chicken Alfredo it comes served with spaghetti noodles and the sauce lacks flavor. The chicken seems rubbery. We heard great things about shoneys but honestly I don’t see how.
Again staff was great and we had no complaints there, but everything else was downhill once we were seated. The bathroom was trashed, looked like like someone left their meal in the sink, garbage overflowing. I ended up getting sick afterwards, food poisoning and heat are not a great combo.
