A visit from Utah, and visiting Dallas for the first time to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we chose for dinner this place. Definitely, the atmosphere was super lovely, and the service was acceptable. To be honest, given the price of the dishes, I expected an amazing culinary experience, and it wasn’t quite that, although the food wasn’t bad at all. The only thing I can truly highlight is the drinks and cocktails service—I could see how my friends enjoyed themselves and couldn’t stop tasting different kinds of beverages, all with a show of colors, smoke, and even light displays. I appreciated the manager visiting our table to take care of every detail. I would definitely return.

I’ve been here three times….and the last visit I was extremely disappointed in the food. I found that the ribeye wasn’t on the menu any longer which was absolutely amazing and the papas bravas weren’t what they once were. I had come to find out they switched executive chefs. I ended up getting a 6 ounce steak and new papas bravas which I have to say was a let down.
While I love the atmosphere, ambiance, and entertainment , the food was lacking and really missed the mark from the standard that was set previously. It’s my hope the dishes improve or return to the level they once were.

They did not miss a mark! ABSOLUTLEY amazing. Starting with the decor and atmosphere, which set the precedence for the food. I couldn’t wait to order. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. Since it was our first time there (birthday dinner gift), she took her time and explained the menu and her recommendations. We ordered the crispy shrimp and also the guacamole appetizer. For my entree, I ordered the garlic Ribeye which was cooked to my specification. Chefs . My bestie ordered the salmon. She stated it was also delicious. Overall, a phenomenal experience. I can’t wait to go back.

The chicken plate, in particular, was disappointing. It was dry, flavorless, and had the unmistakable texture of something that had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. For a restaurant with such a refined atmosphere, I expected far better execution. The steak, another highlight on the menu, arrived cold, which only reinforced the feeling that the kitchen was either rushing or neglecting basic standards of quality. A well-prepared steak should arrive hot, juicy, and cooked with care—this one simply fell flat.
It’s always frustrating when the food does not align with the promise of the environment. Everything about the décor and presentation of the restaurant suggested a high-end dining experience, but the meals did not deliver on that promise. While service was polite enough, it couldn’t make up for the mediocrity of what was served on the plate.
Overall, I would say the atmosphere alone makes this place worth a visit for drinks or a casual night out, but if you are going specifically for the food, prepare to be underwhelmed. With some serious improvements in the kitchen, this restaurant could live up to its potential, but as it stands, the food simply doesn’t match the setting.

The vibes and the decor are it.. it really is a beautiful space that transforms you to a tropical place. The waiter was nice but really seemed like he would rather be anywhere else. Our appetizer took a long time to come out even though we saw it just sitting at the kitchen. The food was good, not the biggest portion for the price. You are paying for the experience and the fun atmosphere. The weird part was that they up charge you to use a credit card and cover the fees, very weird to me in a downtown city restaurant. Valet is convenient and run by very nice workers. Our favorite dish overall was the shrimp and noodles.

Great vibes and great food!! I love the layout of this restaurant and the service was just so good, we loved our waitress so much. Only thing I will say is the music is very loud (at night) so it might be hard to hear if u have a large group but it’s still filled with amazing vibes to make up for it.
Food was good!! I would recommend it for a date night or a dinner night with your friends.

The tomahawk was a 100/10 cooked to perfection, and the sides that accompanied it were to die for!!! The atmosphere was amazing, not too loud but very full of life! The drinks were 100/10 ask for Andy he is the best bartender we’ve had in all of DFW! Would definitely come again any day!!!

Just walked out (12/1/26) and got home and the consistency seems to be not there. My wife and I went there for dine about two weeks ago and the experience/ food was amazing. Today decided to make a to go order at the bar. Walked in at around 7:20 and left at 8:30ish or so. They were slow with about 9ish tables. My wife got the shrimp talllrine and the first time was AMAZING. Today she wanted the same but today just received a basic stir fry that was just spicy and not the same almost like they out a lot of curry? Really just tasted like a $13 Asian drive food (wife’s unfinished plate below). very disappointed. We bought gift cards for Christmas for family members and hope they make corrections. Because we kind of regret at this point. Quite the surprise for a spontaneous Thursday $100 dinner (we did have a $20 gift card because we purchased gift cards for family members).
I did speak with the manager and expressed our dissatisfaction with the plate. We did feel heard and she expressed her concerns and how the consistency was not there as well. She politely asked for my number for future dining experiences. We did appreciate her kind words. Not sure when we will be back, but we will.

came here for the first time on a friday evening and sat at the bar. my bartender, nick, was very helpful and made some great recommendations. the drinks and food were amazing (highlight of the night was the salchipapas) but the atmosphere really put the cherry on top. this is definitely a place that i’d come back to for a date night or even to just hang out with friends. make sure you ask for nick if you sit at the bar!

530 dinner at Mar Y Sol was the perfect time to dine during golden hour and then get the hines of night time when music status to play. hosted and staff were polite and there was always someone ready to help. the yellow tail ceviche and the grilled octopus was our favorite! very favorable and shareable. the salmon from the chefs special menu was okay but would have expected more. the cocktails were tasty and high quality. we were able to sit for hours and have a few drinks and really enjoy or food. overall service was fast and prompt. would definitely come back again
