Had heard about this place for years. We drove past, saw it, turned around and went back! Lol! Glad we did. I wasnt super hungry, but ordered the combo, and got catfish and popcorn shrimp. Batter is light, but crispy. Hushpuppies are legit! Pro tip, put tabasco on ’em! Place has an atmosphere like nowhere else. Sit on wood benches, at rough wooden tables, with gas heaters. It was February, so we wanted a heater! Long story short, ya gotta stop here if your in the area! You wont regret it.

Excellent Service. Great Food. We had a group of 15 for a family birthday get together. Orders were delivered perfect & correct. Constant attention from server. Beautiful views.
Love all of the old pictures. Exactly what you expect from the Fish Camp!

My husband had been to this place several years ago and loved it. He wanted to take our son and I there to try it. We had about a 2 hour drive to get there, but let me tell you, it was 100% worth it. Being a Friday, I was worried it would be packed. We got right in since it was fairly early, and we were greeted right away by several staff. Our waitress was very attentive. Now to the food; I ordered the butterfly shrimp. That was the absolute best shrimp I have had in a long time, and it was very fresh. I highly recommend this place. For 3 of us to eat, it was a little over $60 (Including an appetizer, our entrees, and drinks) which is not bad at all. Finally, the view of the river and surrounding area was priceless and contributed heavily to the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant.

Great experience! When we are traveling the Tombigbee on our jetskis down to Spanish Fort, we plan our schedule/days around eating lunch at Ezell’s. It’s a bit challenging climbing up the river bank up to the restaurant, but worth it! So fun! A little gem along the river.

This place is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten. It has a cool atmosphere and is one of Alabama’s hidden gems. Tucked off the highway by the tombigbee river. It’s got a classic feel. Good catfish and good coleslaw. It’s been a staple for my family to go eat there on the way to our hunting club in South Alabama.

The food was ok but small portions.
Menu said catfish filets but were more like small strips.
Service was good and server was friendly and courteous.
The blooming onion was huge.

I had not been to this eater in twenty years. That Gulf catfish was delicious. The hush puppies were not done on inside, the coleslaw taste fair, however the the dish it was served in, should have been trashed. It was not fit to use. The orka was not done enough. The Blooming onion was incompletely cooked. Sweet potato fries were doggie.

If you like fish, you’ll love this place. They start you off with a giant bowl of delicious coleslaw. They have fried mushrooms that are fantastic!!! Then some hand breaded deep-fried catfish. There are other items on the menu. But you go to a fish restaurant for fish.
The location is out of the way and mostly only locals know about it.
The outside of the building is old with faded wood. The inside is rustic to say the least. All the tables are like picnic tables with benches. There are a few booths you can sit at.
Bottom line, I LOVE eating there. Great southern food and southern hospitality.
I took my 2 Yankey brother-n-laws (Illinois) here and they pigged out big time. They asked when we are coming back.

I just went back August 2025. I had fried mushrooms and 3 piece catfish plate. I couldn’t eat all the mushrooms or the catfish.

Wonderful catfish! I’d honestly forgotten what good catfish was supposed to taste like. I can also definitely recommend the onion rings. We’ll be going back shortly as Dad wants to try the fried mushrooms.

Food was hot and fresh. Shrimp were juicy and plump. Staff was super friendly. We didn’t sit down to eat, only ordered pickup but the staff was still super nice. Food could have used a touch more salt but that’s my personal preference.
