Amazing cafe with beautiful, up cycled decor and wonderful food/drink options in Hanoi! We visited Hidden Gem twice while in the city as they were open over Tet, but we loved it and would have made multiple visits regardless. We ordered the veggie banh mi’s and had an assortment of drinks (mainly coffees and teas) which were all amazing. The Bahn mi’s were some of the best we’ve had during our time in Vietnam. The highlight for us, however, was the amazing upcycled decor and general vibe of the cafe. It is really beautiful and has loads of space, so we felt no issue spending most of a morning there. Highly recommend adding to your must visit list while in Hanoi!

I had a great experience at Hidden Gem Cafe in Hanoi! The highlight is definitely the cafe itself it spans across four floors and is visually stunning with its creative and unique decor. It’s a fantastic place to explore and take photos. The drinks were absolutely delicious and very well made. While the food was just okay, the friendly and welcoming staff made up for it. It’s a wonderful, quiet spot to relax in the middle of the city. Highly recommended for the vibes and the great service

Hidden gem café in Hanoi — truly one of those places you’re grateful to discover.

The salt coffee and coconut coffee were rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The colorful mixed rice noodles were fresh and comforting, the banh mi chicken was flavorful and crispy, and the fresh spring rolls tasted light and homemade.

What makes this place special is its authenticity. Simple, local, and full of heart. You feel the real Hanoi vibe the moment you walk in. A quiet little spot with big flavors and genuine charm.

The cafe itself is super cool! Each flood had different art and super unique seating options. Love that they recycled old motorbikes and turned them into tables, and tires for seating! Loved it. Also super quiet and chill. Egg coffee was delicious & smoothie bowl was yummy too!

Helpful staff!
Hidden gem just bcs every corner and space has its own artsy.
Level 2 or 3 some tables reserved. Mostly visitors here are tourists. Not many locals I saw when I visited this place.
At the top of the level, it’s kinda half outdoor. Most importanly, it was not hot inside. The staffs also helped to take picts for visitors.

The name fits this place. What a treat of a cafe this was! The team were lovely when taking and serving our order and the coffees were delicious. We didn’t order any food as this was a mid-morning coffee break, but did see some lovely cakes pass by. Coconut and salt coffees were ordered and enjoyed.

The decor is quirky and fun and really made for a cool visit. Would definitely stop in again when I am in Hanoi again!

Lovely quirky place. Set over 4 floors the decor is really unique, looks like olot of stuff is recycled fish tanks with old tyres, I loved it. The food was above average. The presentation was lovely and alot of thought has been made with the menus. We were taken there with our tour on the jeep for the dinner, as part of the package.

You might have seen some people telling you that this is a great place for vegetarians, I think they got free food for PR, because the place has 2 veg options only, that too a foodie from india will definitely not like. The place has s good vibe. Its all green and full with some random things which together looks pretty beautiful. You can go here for coffee like coconut coffee and salt coffee but I would recomment not to go for food.

We were intrigued by the cafe name and it certainly lived up to it.
As soon you enter, there is a look and feel that takes you back to Vietnam of the past. Creative repurposing of old tractors, doors, tires, and old bottles gives the place a unique vibe.
Maria (owner) was gracious and took her time to explain different aspects of the decor while we waited for our order. There is a rooftop level that has great open air feel and peaceful ambiance.
Did I mention the coconut coffee (completely non-dairy)? It was just the right level of sweetness for me. We also had a cappuccino, great coffee taste. Only would wish it could be a little hotter next time I go.
The shop has a strong commitment to preserving the environment. From the repurposed decor to messages throughout the place espousing the threat to our oceans, and being one of the few places to use paper bags instead of plastic, this place is truly worth a visit.
This is a coffee shop and museum rolled into one. We also bought a purse made from repurposed denim, it will always remind us of this truly “hidden gem” of a place!

We loved our experience at HG! We went around 7pm after dinner and had teas (their signature herbal iced tea and their cinnamon/ginger/passion fruit hot tea) with a slice of basque cheesecake with passionfruit sauce and more cream on top. It was fabulous, all of it! And the decor on all three/four levels is just so cute and atmospheric, I cannot even.

We did not try anything from the food menu, and I understand there are some haters. But everything we experienced—from the very sweet and welcoming servers, to the gorgeous nighttime interior spaces (all are very airy and semi-open to the elements, even somewhat chilly in January) to the yummy fragrant teas and lovely cheesecake—was just perfection.
