Finally made it to MorningLory Cafe & Bakery after hearing so much about the astounding pies, baked goods, and breakfasts on various social media posts. The place is very pleasant, tastefully decorated with Dimondale memorabilia. I was completely amazed at how the menu is so affordable. I ordered a Three Egg Omelette with green pepper, tomato, and mushroom, with turkey bacon (TURKEY BACON – no gout flare-up for breakfast today) and a side of avocado toast, all for $11. The food is delicious and well-prepared; the food quality is top notch. The staff is so friendly and accommodating.
Even though Dimondale is a slight drive from Downtown Lansing, the drive to MorningLory’s is definitely worth it .

Best breakfast ever! The salt rising toast was amazing, very friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back when I am in the area. I will never have to look for another place to eat again while I’m traveling through because this place is beyond delicious.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast and were happy we did! I had the grilled cinnamon roll, it brought me back to my childhood…it was fresh and buttery with a generous amount of frosting. I also had the half serving of biscuits and gravy with a fried egg which was delicious! My husband had the omelet. It was made withfresh ingredients and was perfectly cooked, another thumbs up.
The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and our coffee cups were kept full. In addition, the prices were reasonable. Do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful café.

We tried this place because a friend recommended their predecessor. We saw it was another restaurant now and decided to try it anyway. We were so glad we did!! The sandwiches were on delicious homemade bread – so much better than commercial. The coleslaw is a well-balanced mix between sweet and creamy and vinegar. The fish in the basket had a nice crisp and the homemade American potatoes were unusual and quite good with crispy edges and tender centers. The bacon in the club and grilled cheese was really crispy and portion sizes were good. The warm apple pie with ice cream was amazing with a light flaky crust and fresh fruit and a large serving for only $3.50. Everything was truly a good value. Service is friendly and attentive and the bathroom was clean, well-supplied and smelled nice. They also have baked goods for sale and we took home a loaf of cinnamon bread for later. Please forgive that we had already split the food in the pictures because we both wanted to try the club and the grilled cheese.

Wonderful spot. The food, people, and vibe were 10/10. Lory greeted us and everyone here was so kind. The portions were large, prices fair, and coffee was never empty. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a home cooked meal and immaculate vibes.

Beware: Should you dare give any constructive feedback whatsoever on the food, the owner/manager will shoot daggers at you with her eyes. She’s smart enough not to say anything, but her face says it nonetheless. (The waitress was pleasant enough; it was the owner who took offense.) Seems to me that if there were a problem with something, I would want the customer to tell me so I could improve it. Many customers say nothing and just don’t come back. Isn’t it better that they speak up so that you can improve it for future customers?
Generally speaking, the food is excellent. My wife usually loves the breakfast burritos, but the last time we went they were prepared differently than the multiple times before. Still good, just not as good. I suppose it was my mistake speaking up…

The prices are very reasonable to boot.
Our only regret is that the owner isn’t more open to feedback. Sadly, this is a small town and we’re likely to be recognized if we ever go again, so this restaurant is now off our list.

Simply the best hidden gem of a breakfast place in the greater Lansing area. My wife got their biscuits and gravy which were truly the best we had at any local place. Their grilled cinnamon rolls are some of the best in the capital city region. Their prices are amazing too for their large portion sizes.

We just discovered this excellent example of a small town cafe. Stopping by for breakfast just because we happen to be in the area we found far above average biscuits and gravy along with a top-notch skillet breakfast. My wife, who is a bit of a biscuits and gravy snob, said it was possibly the best she’d ever had and possessing a very generous proportion of sausage. The skillet breakfast for me was large and just as generously portioned although my one minor quibble would be it was advertised as hash browns and I would really call them home fries. Either way it was excellent and the prices were extremely reasonable. Service was exceptionally friendly and attentive just everything had the friendly small town feel that I think we all value. We will certainly be making a point of going back!

This place was a pleasant surprise My wife and I went in and really enjoyed the ambience and just the coziness of the restaurant. The customer service was great and the food was very tasty really made you want to try other things on the menu so we for sure will be back again.

My wife gave it 5 stars but since this is my account I get to rate it as I want, so 4 stars. The food was good and the service very good. Neither was the best I’ve ever experienced for breakfast. We were glad Google brought us here! Highly recommend!
