I ate here with a friend – we had sushi each to start, and 3-4 main dishes, plus soft drinks – it came to £50 which is incredibly good value for the area. I would highly recommend.
I had Teriyaki Salmon for my lunch. The salmon is quite dry without the sauce; the tempura is a kind of deep fried food instead of real tempura. I ordered a cup of brown rice tea, it tasted very very mild and smelled like normal tea. Quite disappointed with the high Google star level. Personally I can say it’s Chinese-Japanese style food, not Japanese food.
Looks like family business, support!
We have been there twice for our 3 days stay in Windsor.
Highly recommended!
I went for two salads, udon, dumplings, thin noodles, miso soup and their black code dish. Wow, it was bad. Miso soup had super artificial taste, I tossed it immediately, udon – a soup turned to be no liquid whatsoever dish, no flavour, just chopped chicken with thick noodles, salad was just some basic shredded cabbage with no dressing and sweet potato noodles had nothing in it but the noodles. My cod that was 19£(!) was completely burned and had a super weird flavour.
It was my first and definitely the last time ordering from this place. What a huge disappointment! NEVER again.
Great choice for japanese food, by British standards, its great! The prices are also really reasonable, the food fills you up and doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. They really try to make you a well presented and fulfilling meal here.
It’s also worth noting that they throw in a soup with your meal. This isn’t stated on the menu, but it pairs great with whatever food you’re eating.
The only negative I noticed was that the salmon was slightly warm, room temperature at most. Absolutely wrong with it. Just slightly surprising. Otherwise as fresh as you can get here.
