Went to eat Thursday, October 30th at around 11:30am, there was no wait and service was quick at seating me. Diner was upkept very nicely and waitress/staff was quick and efficient. Background music creating nice atmosphere. Went right before lunch rush but there was a good amount of customers. Menu has wide variety of options, bacon cheeseburger was prepared in around 15-20 minutes and was prepared well. Diner accepts meal swipes for Rutgers students and RU Express. Price is $14.00 for an entree and drink, very reasonable price. Overall experience was very pleasant and worthwhile.

I visited Henry’s Diner at Rutgers in New Brunswick for a quick lunch and had a great experience! I ordered the spicy chicken wrap with a side of fries and a lemonade, paying with my meal swipe, which made it convenient. The wrap was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat, and the fries were crispy and well-salted. The lemonade was refreshing, though I wish there were more drink options to choose from.
Even though there was a line of students waiting, the staff were friendly and efficient, and I didn’t have to wait long for my food. The diner is cozy and casual, perfect for a lunch between classes. Portions were generous, leaving me full and satisfied. I’d recommend Henry’s Diner for anyone looking for fast, tasty, and convenient campus dining. I’ll definitely be back to try more menu items!

Had a great time today at Henry’s Diner. The wait wasn’t long and the staff and service was outstanding. I ordered the Short Stack combo with bacon, and a Vanilla Milkshake. Both of these items were prepared very well, and were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be taking another visit here soon, and recommending it to friends.

The food here is really good though wait times are long and are especially frustrating on colder days. They are somewhat scummy with their menu considering they don’t put prices for credit card users automatically, as if you are expected to meal swipe. Cheesecake is really good, creamy consistency and all. Burgers are good, pancakes are good but diner pancakes are generally good.
Overall, good place to eat but I have to bump it down to 4 due to their menu issues and wait time.

Henry’s Diner is a cozy, upbeat spot to grab a bite using your Rutgers meal swipe. I got there right at opening and waited about 10 minutes outside to be seated. The vibe inside was fun and friendly, most of the staff are Rutgers students, which makes the atmosphere super welcoming. Our server was sweet and super attentive.
I ordered the Breakfast Burger—a grilled patty with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a fried egg—served with crispy fries and a drink, I got a coffee. The meal was pretty good. They offer fountain drinks, coffee, or water with your meal. My friend got the cinnamon French toast combo with bacon. Food came out quick around 10–15 minutes, and we were in and out in under an hour.
Heads-up: no free coffee refills, and extras beyond the swipe cost more. They offer a Venmo QR code so you can tip the student workers.

Today, I enjoyed a nice meal at Henry’s Diner located on Rutgers Livingston campus in Piscataway, NJ. I got there around 12:54 pm, prime lunchtime hours, and only waited about six minutes to be seated. This depends on what time of day you go and how many you’re with, so plan ahead. If you’re not taking the bus, be on the lookout for street parking otherwise, Google the campus parking rules and permits before entering a lot.
This campus diner captures that classic 1950s diner feel with its red booths, countertops, red neon lighting accents and steel interior, giving it that vintage New Jersey diner feel. They also keep it very clean in here.
Our waiter, Rohan, was prompt and friendly, serving us water right away before taking our order. The prices aren’t too bad, ranging from $9-$15. Students with a meal swipe can get a meal for $12 (drink included) before 5 pm. They also had some tempting daily specials- chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes and shakes. The great part about this diner is that you can ask your server to make substitutions if you have certain restrictions or find safe meals like the veggie burger.
We ordered the mozzarella sticks, Buttery Brioche French Toast, and Eggs Benedict. Everything came out within about ten minutes of order ordering. The mozzarella sticks were super yummy and had a great cheese pull— all great starters came with fries, so this was a plus. My french toast was like buttery heaven for my taste buds and quite delicious with the added compote. My friend enjoyed the eggs because they weren’t runny and messy.
Afterwards, we waited ten minutes in the to-go line for some tasty milkshakes, I got a coffee shake for the energy, and my friend got their signature cake shake that comes with a slice of cake in and on the shake. Super rich and creamy shakes.
Frankly, this place is great if you want to enjoy some classic all-day breakfast or a quick bite before they close at 6 pm. Perfect place to eat for any Rutgers students or campus visitors.

I visited this diner on a Thursday morning that offers a modern twist on the classic experience, but it came with mixed results. The atmosphere was welcoming, with a contemporary vibe that differed from traditional vintage diners, though the long wait outside to be seated was frustrating. The staff, however, was friendly and attentive, which made a positive impression. The menu was somewhat limited compared to more traditional diners, but I chose the two-egg white bacon breakfast sandwich. While the presentation was appealing, the bottom soggy bread unfortunately ruined the sandwich. On the plus side, the home fries were crispy and delicious, providing a much-needed redeeming factor. Overall, while the diner attempts to modernize the classic diner experience, the lengthy wait, inconsistent food quality, and higher prices left me feeling less inclined to return anytime soon.

On Thursday, March 27th, my friend and I visited Henry’s Diner (located at 55 Rockafeller Rd, Piscataway, NJ). We arrived at 2:10PM, which proves to be a busy time every time we visit. When we got there, the line could practically wrap around the diner! Even though it was windy, my friend and I chose to be seated outside to be seated quicker, making us wait about only five minutes. The inside of the diner is beautiful, featuring a retro look with red booths, single-seating chairs at the bar, and tables. To add on, the outside is just as beautiful, consisting of tables with big red umbrellas emerging from them. The atmosphere of the diner is very welcoming, with friendly staff that are attentive to their customers. The outside eating area was also very clean, and the music that played from the speakers added the best touch for people similar to me who enjoy nice tunes while eating. We were served almost instantly by a friendly waitress who made sure we were taken care of, even though we were outside and the inside was busy. I opted for my usual, the Chipotle Chicken Panini, which I wholeheartedly recommend if you’re a lover of chipotle sauce. The food was inexpensive, totaling up to 29.86 for two people, but if you’re a student at Rutgers, RU Express and student meal swipes are accepted! (Also accepting guest swipes.) If you’re around Piscataway, I recommend giving this diner a look!

My friend and I went to Henry’s Restaurant together this afternoon.(3/25)The restaurant is located at the first stop of Livingston Campus Plaza. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a long queue. Many students were waiting in groups to get in. Although there were a lot of people, I noticed that if you were two or more people, your waiting time would be longer. So, obviously, the fastest way to get in was in a group of three. Since we were exactly three people, we waited for about 10 minutes before entering. As soon as we sat down, a waiter came to ask if we needed water or drinks. They are so nice. Then, we started to order. Here’s a tip: This restaurant accepts meal swipes for Rutgers students, but if you exceed the limit, you’ll have to pay out of your own pocket. It’s usually around 5 dollars. We ordered three different kinds of food. Philly Cheese Steak: The beef slices are fried to just the right doneness, locking in all the juices, and are served with melted yellow cheese and fried onions and sweet peppers. Each bite is like eating a steaming hot cheese volcano. The bread is lightly toasted. The side fries are sprinkled with powdered sugar, which mellows out the greasiness of the meat and adds a lot of points! The Classic: The golden fried chicken is fragrant as soon as it’s served. The crust is crispy but not dry. When you break it open, you can see the juice oozing out. The chicken itself is well marinated and has a faint spice flavor, with a moderate saltiness. It’s served with crisp lettuce and juicy tomato slices. The bread body is soft and slightly chewy, and the overall taste is very satisfying but not greasy. You can add some hot sauce for extra flavor, and it will instantly awaken your taste buds! And the R burger: Two thick layers of beef patties with layers of melted cheddar cheese, topped with fried onion rings and a special sauce! When you cut it in half, the sauce and cheese flow together. It’s paired with a small portion of cool mixed cabbage and pickled cucumbers, achieving a perfect balance. (As shown in the picture) I highly recommend everyone to come and taste it. Besides, it’s spring now, so you can have meals outdoors too!! It’s just perfect to come in the afternoon. The gentle falling sunlight makes your mood even better.

I visited Henry’s Diner on Tuesday March 25th, at around 12:30 and it did not disappoint! Parking was somewhat limited, and upon approaching the diner, I noticed a line that had formed. It took me about 20 minutes of waiting before I could sit down. The interior was well maintained and clean with a welcoming atmosphere, because as soon as I sat down, I was greeted by my server in a very nice manner! I ordered the breakfast burger and a side of chicken fingers that came along with fries. All of these dishes were incredible! The burger was juicy and not dry, the egg had a nice yolk, with very tasty bacon, and the fries were very crispy and seasoned well, as well as the chicken tenders being breaded beautifully and having a nice crunch. The diner accepts Rutgers student meal swipes, which is very convenient for any Rutgers students who want to dine here! The menu also caters to various dietary preferences, offering vegetarian options like the melted brie and cranberry sandwich on whole grain bread. The total came out to around $24 for my meal, and considering the amount of food I got for the price, I’d say I’m willing to come back! Overall, Henry’s Diner provided a delightful dining experience with its nostalgic yet modern ambiance, attentive service, and diverse menu. It’s a spot I’d recommend come back to in a pinch!
