Social Profile:

La Delizia is the most special neighbourhood restaurant, and much much more than just a pizzeria. The food is delicious and everyone there is friendly and warm. Just by stepping through the door you feel like you have been transported to Italy. The aromas of delicious home cooked italian food, the friendly faces, the hand rendered murals of Italy on the wall and the warmth of Michele Damiano, makes up the intimate ambience of La Delizia. It is a place for all occasions, no matter how formal. The recipes have been passed down through generations, and Michele gets excited about the food as he did when his grandmother cooked it.

Italian pizzeria with a classic desserts menu and walls decorated with hand-painted murals.

We were looking for an Italian restaurant with a pizza option a bit off the high street and La Delizia fit the bill.

It was a bit crowded when we arrived but as things settled down it became quite comfortable.

We started with Rocket Salad with Parmesan cheese.

For our main, we decided on spaghetti with baby shrimp and clams and a ricotta pizza. Both were wonderful. The ricotta pizza like a Pizza calzone, very tasty.

We treated outlets to a bottle of full body red Italian wine.

La Delizia 1986 is one of those places that makes you appreciate how good simple, honest Italian cooking can be. I stopped by and immediately liked the relaxed neighbourhood feel — no pretence, just a comfortable atmosphere and people who clearly take pride in what they do.

The food stood out straight away. The pizza was exactly what I look for: light dough, proper char, and balanced toppings without that heavy, overdone feel you get elsewhere. Everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they work with good ingredients rather than trying to cover anything up with seasoning. The starters and salads were the same — straightforward, clean flavours, well executed.

Service was friendly, efficient, and consistent from start to finish. Nothing forced, nothing rushed, just a smooth experience that lets you enjoy your meal at your own pace.

Overall, this place delivers exactly what a neighbourhood Italian should: quality food, a comfortable setting, and people who genuinely care about the guest experience. I’d happily return.

The best chef Karl…
I had one of the best lunch experiences today! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every bite was satisfying and full of flavor. The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it an ideal midday break. Portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, and the menu had a great variety to suit different tastes.
Thank you

Atmosphere and service is really nice. The Italian (owner I think) is super kind and accommodating and super understanding. The food itself is okay. The pizza was good but nothing special. The pasta was very tomatoey. The tiramisu was ok just felt like whipped cream. But the panna cotta was incredible, that I loved a lot. Overall a nice place to go, if I had to come back to eat I wouldn’t complain.

Loved it! Family run and proper Italian little gem. Pizza was amazing and pity I didn’t try the pasta!! Was very impressed with the service and no service charge added which was rare and appreciated when in London…of course I did give a good tip but was nice to have the option.

Had a lovely lunch here with my daughter.

We hadn’t booked and needed to eat in a hurry. Nothing was too much trouble. Rosa had the burrata with butternut squash, I had the mushroom starter and we shared the roasted pear salad. All delicious. Michelle, our waitress – a fellow kiwi, was warm and professional.

We will be back.

Delicious authentic Italian food! Great service and nice staff. (Note: The Parmesan cheese was added to my choice) Everything was fresh and tasty. The place itself it’s really small and where we were there it was overcrowded, so make sure you reserve your seat. Really recommend for Italian food lovers!

Went there for an early lunch, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, pizza was really nice with huge chunks of delicious burrata. Gamberoni had some super fresh Argentinian shrimps. Cosy, laid back atmosphere and really decent prices.

There are not many restaurants like this one. What makes them one of a kind is the nice feel of this place. Genuine family run restaurant with super friendly staff and owner. The food is delicious and prices are reasonable. We had mussels for starter and 2 pizzas for main – food was so good I forgot to take a photo of the starter!
