I had a great experience at Rumba in Metairie. The island-style decor created a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Our waitress Nicole was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. She pointed out the restaurant’s best sellers and her favorites, which I really appreciated. The Mango Mule and Piña Colada mocktail were both refreshing.
Our food came out quickly and everything was delicious. We tried the Crawfish Rangoons and Caribbean Wings, and I ordered the Calypso Braised Short Ribs, they were incredibly tender and paired perfectly with the sides.
Overall, great service, great food, and a nice vibe. I would definitely come back.

This place is such a vibe. As soon as you walk in, it feels as if you’re at an island resort. The decor was impeccable and the seating was so fun. We sat on these really large swing like couches. Super comfy.
The host, servers, and bartenders were very attentive. They really made you feel at home. If you inquire about the house made rum, they’ll give you a free shot
Now the food… the food…. Everything that we tried was AMAZING. So, so good… Such unique flavors. The brussels were delicious! Oh, and the drinks were really good too.
Loved the vibe, loved the music, loved the decor, loved the service, loved the food & drinks. Can’t go wrong with this place.

I’ve dined here twice and have been impressed each time! The Sweet Heat Margarita was done well and perfectly balanced. For my entree, I had the Zydeco Redfish on both visits. It tasted the same each time and was so good. The redfish had a delicious grilled taste and the sauce was yummy. I just wish they would put more sauce on it. The Brussel Sprouts were delicious as well! For appetizers, the Crab Cake and Crawfish Rangoons are both solid choices. The tacos are only served during lunch. I tried the Buffalo Soldier Taco and it was perfection. I must admit that I was not a fan of the key lime pie (unfortunately). The crust was really thick and the overall flavor wasn’t there. It’s also worth mentioning that service was A+ on each visit and I look forward to dining here again.

If you like a tropical vibe this is the place to come for Happy Hour. It’s like no other! The prickly pear and regular margaritas are $8.00 and delicious! The overstuffed jerk chicken tacos are $4.00 and the roasted garlic salad is 10.00. They have unique flavors and are bursting with cardamon and other spices. What a bargain!!! The BBQ Dominican ribs fall off the bones and are slathered in a rich complex sauce. You must order them. The stand out is the Hot fudge sundae…house made hot fudge, whipped cream and candied pecans. I felt like I died and went to heaven…I didn’t want the sundae to end! Ramon and Erin are the best bartenders. They are menu knowledgeable and an asset to the company. The bartender will serve a complimentary house made banana infused rum shot if its your first time there.

We were really excited to try this place and honestly was a let down for all of us. The decor/ambiance was amazing. Attention to detail was everywhere and it was really pretty. Initially we sat outside but the sun was directly in our face so we moved inside. Prob a good idea to get pull down shades for that area. Our waitress was super friendly, gave really good honest reviews and took great care of our table. We got the Dominican ribs, tuna burger and the chicken sandwich. The Dominican ribs were very fatty, we brought most of it home, more than half, to our dog because it was inedible. They lacked flavor a lot and were a little on the dry side. The sweet potatoes just weren’t very good and neither was the garlic salad. The tuna burger wasn’t very good either. The chicken sandwich was the best at the table but wasn’t something any of us would come back for. Overall a lot of what we had was pretty bland. It was pretty pricey too, the coconut shrimp app was $16 for 3 shrimp. That’s kind of insane to me. We came at 5:30ish and there was no wait. They do have an extensive drink menu that had some amazing looking drinks, we didn’t have any so not sure if they were as good as they looked/sound.

Very nice vibe! Food is decent and enjoyable, with good portions and solid flavors. Not necessarily a must-have, but it definitely gets the job done. A cool spot to check out if you’re in the area and want a laid-back, good-energy meal.

We were lucky to get a table right away ( party of 6), but reservation is highly recommended here.
Our server came right away and was very attentive.
We ordered 2 appetizers and they were both a great hit!
Our choice of main dish was absolutely delicious! I ordered a well done steak and it came juicy and flavorful.
We will definitely come again!

Our server was hella pushy. The food was way too sweet. Killed the flavor of the tuna poke and the tacos were also sweet. The plantains were spot on. If they can put less sugar in the food then it would be money. The atmosphere is really nice. Who designed this spot needs credit.
