I’d skip the Mac and Cheese 4/10, it’s nothin to write home about. The beans 9/10 were deliciously sweet and Smokey and have various meats added. My fiance got the brisket 7/10 he said it was a little dry and needed sauce.
I’d come back again just for the pork, but I’d get a plate next time instead of a sandwich. Hopefully their cornbread & collards are as good as their beans. Maybe they’ll hook me up with a free side of slaw next time.
They also have a bar in the seating area which was nice.
The ordering process confused some of the groups in front of us while in line so it took a while to get through it. Absolutely worth the wait though.
On March 1, 2026, around 4:20 PM at the Coxe Ave location, my order didn’t go well. I got Bear Balls with sides, but the sides weren’t added at the register, I had no tray to put anything on. They held it for me while the Bear Balls were being prepared (probably frying time).
When I asked about adding the sides, the tall employee with black glasses had an attitude and asked if this was my first time here. I said no, I’ve been coming for a while, and she replied “You’ll get used to it” in a condescending way that made the whole interaction feel off and uncomfortable.
On top of that, the Bear Balls came out really mushy and felt undercooked, not crispy like I’ve had them before.
Just wanted to share this so others know what might happen. The food has potential and I’ve had good experiences in the past, so I hope management is aware of these kinds of issues and trains the staff better to make sure everyone has a positive visit.
Everything else they do is good, too. And the BBQ sauce? Just go!
They have a small indoor space for dining. You could also sit on the brewery side if that’s your thing.
The brisket was excellent. It was tender and moist with a nice smoke ring. The beans could be a meal by themselves, they had lots of meat in them. The pork was also very good.
The service was very helpful in helping us make our choices. Definitely will return again if in the area!
The place is perfectly placed for having fun and getting something to eat. The staff are freindly and the decor is simply delightful as well as the suaces used for the meats…however Its unfortunate that the food was just so disappointing. The portion sizes for the meat are quite small for the price and it was all so DRY. We waited for a restock of the burnt ends and we’re pretty much forgotten about. Im sure that if it was fresh it would be 10x better but after biting into dry brisket, chicken, cornbread and burnt ends so many times it all was just bleh. Mac and cheese was utterly bloated and bland. Again if the food was fresher im sure it would be a way better experience but alas this is what we had.
