Whitney Donut is one of those places that feels like a true local staple. We go here regularly and it’s the kind of spot where you feel like family when you walk in.
The coffee rolls are incredible… huge, soft, and perfectly sweet. The lemon horns are another favorite and honestly everything we’ve tried has been great. The donuts are always fresh and my kids absolutely love them. Their coffee is really good, which makes it an easy morning stop.
They also have great breakfast and lunch sandwiches, so it’s not just a donut shop if you’re looking for something more filling.
The parking lot can be a little tight, but they have a drive-thru which is a huge plus, especially when you’ve got kids in the car or just need a quick coffee run.
Good prices, great food, and consistently a great experience. Definitely a Hamden classic.

Very solid, old school, donut shop. You walk in and immediately flashback to your childhood visiting a donut shop. It’s a simple store and the regulars are hanging out having breakfast. The fritters and coffee rolls are literally the size of your head. You could cut one in half and still think “this is still big”. They were also very crunchy (in a good way). The price of everything is very cheap too. I thought the iced coffee was a little burnt, but it still got the job done. It’s surprisingly busy even at early hours of the day, but the service is fast and the people are nice. Worth a try if you’re in the area

Always great food whenever I come here. Today I thought they closed at 3, but they actually close at 2 and even though it was just two minutes before closing, they went above and beyond by making two sandwiches for us. They even turned the toaster back on, which we truly appreciated. Such kindness and amazing service. I hope they have a wonderful holiday!

This was my first time here, amazing sandwiches, good donuts. Got the Italian and a chocolate coconut donut both were phenomenal. The Italian came with oil and vinegar, perfectly shredded lettuce, tomato and onion. Will be back for sure.

We love Whitney Donut! We have been devout customers for at least 4-5 years. We enjoy their freshly made sandwiches, salads, donut options, bagels and soups. We love it all. The atmosphere is always welcoming. Order and pick up for quicker service. However, there is a drive up option as well. They are a wonderful business in the town of Hamden! Stop by!

These guys were great. I had an office event and needed to order a large volume of bagels and donuts early in the day. They were on top of it and even called to check on details. Unlike dunking donuts, I knew based on Whitney Donut’s consistent staff and their follow up, they would have the food ready and on time. And they did. Plus it tasted great!

OK. If you’re a Texas boy traveling through these parts and you need a good sausage egg sandwich. This is the best place in town! Problem is it’s hard to understand these people. I don’t think it’s just this donut shop. I think it’s all these people up here. Me being from Texas it sure is hard to understand them. They sure are friendly though I can see why this is the top rated donut shop in North Haven, Connecticut. Y’all come on in here and get you some!

This was the first time my boyfriend and I have been here. We went inside the service was pretty quick they have a nice variety of donuts and bagels to choose from. Honestly the donuts were absolutely delicious and my bacon egg and cheese was amazing! However my boyfriend tried the chicken sausage egg and cheese for the first time ever and he was just not a fan at all. We would definitely come back for sure though! We did eat inside they have some tables and a counter with some stools. The staff were nice. Overall would totally recommend!

Local donut shop that has been there for years. Always full and busy. When I am in a few miles of the area. I try to stop in to get their donuts. Some of my favorite ones are toasted coconut chocolate or vanilla. I enjoy their large crullers or cruellers. Great variety of donuts that are hearty and fresh. I enjoy their jelly donuts both powdered and plain. Their Boston cream are large and filled. They also make several sandwiches. I do recommend this establishment for its donuts and sandwiches. Great service.
