I had low expectations, but thought the food at the café was surprisingly good and fairly reasonably priced. BBQ sandwiches and sides were very tasty. Plenty of outdoor seating in a lovely garden setting.

I don’t know what all these bad reviews are about. The staff was plenty friendly and they had quite a few really unique things on the menu; we had Red Widow Cider and a Key Lime Pie ice cream sandwich.

Way better than you’d expect from a typical snack stand! We had a chili dog, nachos and a cookie, everything was really good but the cookies in particular are delicious (think they’re freshly baked). All of the staff was super friendly as well and I thought the prices were very fair. I usually try to avoid these snack stands but this one is excellent!

We had the Mac and cheese, bbq chicken platter, and chicken salad sandwiches. We all enjoyed our meals tremendously. The sandwiches were huge. The chicken just fell a part. I would definitely recommend eating here if you want to maximize your time at Magnolia. The outdoor seating is very picturesque, and we even had a peacock who visited our table and pleasantly gobbled at us for a couple minutes.

I’m really confused why people give this cafe such poor reviews. We almost didn’t eat here because of them, but it was really good, and I’d recommend it as a great meal option for anyone visiting the plantation.

Average sandwich. The peacocks were fun to dine with – they just wander around.
Food is over priced.

For a tourist attraction, the food was okay. The sandwiches were cold and the bacon was hard. Other than that it was very good.

Very poor customer experience

I’m very disappointed by the way I was treated. After waiting 40 minutes under the sun with children just to get refreshments, I politely asked for an extra plastic cup. I was told I had to go all the way back and queue again—just for a single empty cup. When I calmly tried to explain the situation, without raising my voice or being aggressive in any way, they escalated things by calling security on me. Nothing was explained nor « rules » written anywhere ont that. I had no issue paying for the extra item if needed, and I remained respectful throughout. Unfortunately, the staff responded with unnecessary hostility and completely lacked empathy or common sense. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially in a family-oriented setting.

Food is very decent for a cafe.
The one employee is terrible. Cranky and rude, makes you feel like you’re a problem at every request even though it’s her job to take your order. She kind of ruins the mood.
Location is beautiful, you may have a male peacock as a lunch guest which is great!

Ok, the food wasn’t bad. The Ham and Swiss sandwich was actually good. But here’s the downside. It was so flabbergastingly expensive. Another sandwich, I don’t remember the name, only contained tomatoes and pickles AND COSTED $13!! Almost everything exept for the Ham and Swiss was super overpriced. The plantation itself wasn’t horrible unlike the café. The experience could be much better if they improved the price level.
