We enjoyed the most amazing dinner last night. We started out with glasses of wine and the delicious calamari. Normally I order their Carbonara for dinner, which is always amazing but I wanted to try something different and ordered the Maple Bourban Salmon. It comes with an incredible side of crispy bacon and Brussels sprouts. My husband ordered one of their special pasta dishes, Casalinga, which was incredible also. We then had the Raspberry Creme Brûlée which was perfect.
Great service and incredible food! Keep up the great job everyone and see you soon.
Food was decent but I had one dish that I thought was terrible. The braised beef noodle dish. Super bland, and mushy. I tried to reach out to the owner Joe but didnt get much of a response on how to make this up to us.
Had multiple people in my party try this dish and no one wanted it after one bite. I dont mind paying for more expensive dishes but quality needs to be there and this was not it.
All of our other items were pretty good. Restaurant was packed and busy. Felt they could do better with the spacing of tables. Overall it was okay. But based on lack of the response of the owner Joe im on the fence of returning. At this point I had a better overall experience at De Marcos across the street.
Service was very good considering the large number of guests. No miscues in our orders, plenty of food (much of it was packaged to bring home).
Food was very good. Our table ordered the calamari appetizer and main courses of Tuscan chicken, mussels, lasagna, and cannolis.
The Italian old fashion was very good, very unique.
The restaurant is very cozy, a small but quaint bar, clean restaurant rooms, clean restaurant. Very attentive wait staff. Saw nothing but smiles on patrons leaving after their meals, including our group.
I came here for my birthday and I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve never eaten in Rochester before. We were greeted by the staff opening the door for us. I dressed up however the restaurant doesn’t seem to have a dress code. Once you step inside, the atmosphere was a bit unsuspecting and the space is smaller/cozy.
We were taken care of immediately. And the staff was super friendly.
I asked for a custom order of spicy penne (my favorite from carbone is the spicy rig) and I ordered the traverse city chicken and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s easily a 10/10 dish. It will seriously blow your mind with how unique it is. The sauce has a savory umami, salty, and sweet (cherries) flavor profile and the chicken was cooked perfect. I’ve never had anything like it and can’t stop thinking about it.
Highly recommend this place with an open mind. Overall I would give this place a 4.5/5 stars. We ordered 3 entrees and 2 5 oz wine and the total was around $80 for 2 people.
We’ll be back!
I happily recommend.
