Our first visit to the first Mexican restaurant in Greenville. We arrived right before the doors opened at 4:00 pm. To our surprise, there was already a line of waiting patrons out front. We were promptly seated in a comfortable booth, in the most unique dining experience. David, the owner, warmly welcomed us with a little history and educated us about the menu. WOW wow WOW the chili rellano was incredible! It’s not your traditional chili rellano but a ball of pure bliss. Of all things… the shredded cheese struck my taste buds, before dancing all over them. The house margarita complimented the explosive flavors. If you haven’t been, please give them a try!

The food here was delicious. It didn’t take long to get our food. The manager came to check on the table. Our server Ella did a great job taking care of table. She was attentive and very friendly. I loved the atmosphere and the decor. Will definitely return here for another meal. I recommend the enchiladas, they were amazing.

The food here was amazing. This is real Mexican food done right. The flavors are authentic, fresh, and nothing like the typical Americanized versions. Everything is clearly made by hand and absolutely delicious. The flavors were incredible and far from the typical Old El Paso–style taste you find at many Mexican restaurants. You can really tell the care that goes into each dish.

Incredibly cozy and clean dining room. The cheese dip exceeded ALL expectations, wow!!! Ordered the pollo fundido since its was popular, it did not disappoint. Shredded chicken was tender and moist even my 1 year old was able to enjoy. The staff were super friendly. Was my first time, won’t be my last.

We finally tried this place due to a recommendation from a friend and came as a family. Our waiter was kind. The atmosphere had a cool vibe. The food was disappointing. The beans and rice were not bad. The steak and chicken had no flavor. My daughter pulled a long hair out of her entree. I never leave negative reviews but this place was not good. We will not be back.

Food is always great. It’s one of my favorite places to eat. The oldest Mexican restaurant in SC. Love the rock style outside. There is outside dining. David, who is a chef owner, etc, always greets and manages to speak to the customers. I never can eat all my food. Great guacamole. L

Went with my mum. They were short-staffed, stressed, and anxious about new customers coming in. While I understand being understaffed can be stressful and make you uneasy, and having a constant stream of customers can lead to even more stress, it’s crucial to deliver quality hospitality because it isn’t the customers fault that you are understaffed. But I digress; the atmosphere was lovely, the food was quite delicious, but the initial arrival was not welcoming, and most customers felt terrible for even walking through the door.

We finally tried it and had a great experience. We spoke to several guests who had been going for years, including a couple who had been coming for 50 years. The restaurant isn’t much to look at, but the people were friendly and the food tasted good. The food is probably best described as Southern inspired Tex Mex. Everyone in our party loved their food.

Service was very kind. Place has charm. The food was awful. I ordered the chalupa, what came out was a tostada when I asked the waitress if this was the chalupa she said it was. On the menu it showed an actual chalupa. I took one bite but we were both wrong because it tasted like lasagna. The queso tasted like someone poured Mac and cheese powder in some heavy cream added a can of roasted green chilies. The Chile Relleno was not a traditional poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and fried, these infact were stuffed bell peppers.I get tex Mex but this was not that. We had a wonderful time regardless enjoyed our drinks.

I was so disappointed in this place. A lot of people build this place up, so I had always wanted to try it. First off it needs to be cleaned, the menus were nasty, the walls had food built up in them. I’m not sure this place has ever had a good cleaning. The salsa was basically stewed tomatoes. Needs to be blended. The cheese dip has some weird spice. Keep it simple with the cheese dip. The food was just not good. I don’t understand how this place is busy. It was a waste of 90$.I actually had to buy my son dinner after we left here. Service wasn’t great either! Would never go back! The guacamole was good that was it!
