The French Guys is a bakery dedicated to bringing our favorite French breads, pastries, and desserts to the Seattle community, from the iconic croissant to our countryside classics. Since our founding in 2020, our mobile bakery has grown to a full-fledged production serving twelve farmers markets in the summer, four in the winter, and over fifteen wholesale partners across Seattle. Our location in Capitol Hill is open seven days a week and our U-Village storefront will open in Spring 2025. It’s this combination of premium locally-sourced ingredients, expert techniques, and a deep love for our home that creates our quintessential French Guys experience. This bakery has such a warm, cozy vibe. The moment you walk in, the smell of fresh bread and coffee hits you, and it instantly sets the mood. They offer a great variety of pastries and baked goods, so there’s plenty to choose from.

The highlight for us was the flan—absolutely amazing. The aroma and texture were spot on, smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The canelé was also really good, nicely baked with that classic flavor and structure.

We were a bit disappointed with the cappuccino, though. The espresso tasted over-extracted and slightly burnt, which took away from the drink.

Overall, still a pretty good experience, especially for the pastries and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Wow…The French Guys Bakery was an amazing find at the edge of Capitol Hill.
Stopping here was just a serendipitous wild hair…..I plucked it and what a find!!!
This small patisserie/bakery is located across the street from the former Harvard theater.
The seating is tight, cozy with mellow but bustling vibes. Service was friendly and efficient.
The latte was delicious, no bitter afterbite.
The pastry choices were right on…..an almond pear tart ( heated)●●●● and the absolute top – of -chart passionfruit coconut mango creation. Food love ❤️ personified!!●●●● Holy mother of mango…..yowzah!
Prices were reasonable for value delivered. Not cheap…..but totally worth it!
Handicap ♿️ doable but be aware of the tight spaces.
Small upstairs with tables and a few outside seating situations as well.
Final take…..French Guys Bakery is highly recommended… Tres Bien!!!!

What a lovely experience. It’s a cozy setting with delicious pastries. My latte was as close to perfection as I’ve ever had. And great staff too. I highly recommend.

Delicious!! Their bakery selection is wonderful in both sweet and savory options. I decided to start with something rather straightforward in the almond pan au chocolate and every bite was perfect. We were going to finish eating on our walk but ended up staying upstairs because that seating area is just too perfect not to enjoy.

Stopped at The French Guys when leaving Seattle to have some great pastries for our road trip home – and this was definitely one of the main highlights of our Seattle trip. The pastries were all incredible and I recommend all of them. I’ll be thinking of these pastries for a very long time.

☕ I had a cinnamon honey latte and it was delicious. The special menu states that it’s iced but I wanted it hot and they happily obliged. It was really good.

Breakfast Biscuit – this was perfect. The biscuit was flaky and crispy, the egg was fluffy. It was a perfect compliment to the coffee.

Chocolate Croissant- Fresh, crispy and flaky

Although there was a line out the door (not surprising now that I’ve tried the food) they moved quickly and efficiently. The Cafe itself was very cute. I’ll definitely be back.

Much prefer this location to the U-Village one. The almond pan au chocolate is one of the best things i’ve ever had. Their cortado is also amazing — perfectly bitter.

The pastries here are really good—flaky, fresh, and not too sweet. I came early in the morning and the outdoor seating was perfect. Cool Northwest air, quiet street, and a hot cup of coffee made it a great way to start the day. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Loved the vibe at The French Guys! The place is gorgeous, the coffee is spot-on, and it has such a lovely atmosphere — perfect for slowing down and enjoying the moment! I just wish they had a few gluten-free treats on the menu – that would be the cherry on top!

Get the kouign-amann. If you want flaky, laminated dough perfection then you gotta get it. Get five even, why stop at one? I was in the area for a week and started each day with a kouign-amann. Every. Single. Day. Except for the last day because I bought 8 instead to take home with me. I just walked in because it was open early and it was cute, a little shop perched at the top of a hill. But once I saw the display case, I knew it was gonna be good. Sticky with caramel, I ate around from the outer spiral to the center: go from crunchy outside to chewy interior. Perfect with some coffee! I paired it with their Madeline mocha, one of their signature drinks.

I did try other things. The chocolate brioche is a fluffy dream and both of the pistachio desserts I got were an earthy, comforting treat. The baguette is crisp, perfect for toasting. But seriously, get the kouign-amann. Get it on my behalf until I can get another one myself, I’ll dream of it in the meantime.
