We came in for a casual weekend dinner with a group of five, and our experience at Romulus and Remus was absolutely flawless. The food was amazing across the board! The focaccia was top-tier, and the meatballs were an instant hit. I had the osso buco, which was hands-down my personal favorite, but we also shared the fish (a solid 10/10) and the shiitake pasta, which is easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I washed it all down with a crisp Peroni. What really made the night, though, was the service. It had this wonderful,nice-familiar vibe—the staff was super sweet and attentive, and the owner was constantly checking in to make sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend this Grey Lynn gem!

An amazing italian experience, my friend and I ordered the risotto croquettes, diavolo chicken, the osso bucco (beef) and profiteroles to finish it off. The food was exquisite, very well executed, and I particularly loved how the crunchy cripsy kale paired with the bed of puree and tender chicken. Service was great, they swiftly took care of a less-than-clean water jug for us (the only reason it was missing a star) and staff were so kind and friendly. Loved the vibes and the atmosphere ! definitely a great place to go for a treat, and would return.

Dinner with a colleague, picked at random because of ease to get to. This was a fabulous choice. The risotto was so creamy and delicious. We had the fish and the osso buco with a starter of risotto balls…. Devine! We had no room for dessert so will have to come back. The staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere had a kinda rustic vibe. Fantastic from start to finish.

Tasty food, heavier style flavour of a family style meal and very tasty.
The arancini / risotto croquet starters were very nice.
Osso bucco slow cooked to being fork tender.

My friend and I visited Romulus & Remus for the first time this week and we were honestly so impressed. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was cosy warm and incredibly relaxing the perfect setting for a long enjoyable dinner.
The service was truly 20/10 from the get go. Friendly attentive and welcoming without ever feeling rushed.
We started with the burrata and risotto croquettes which were absolutely delicious rich crispy and full of flavour. The calamari was perfectly cooked so soft and tender
For mains we ordered the slow cooked beef shin and the seafood linguine and wow. The beef shin was melt in your mouth tender with incredible depth of flavour paired beautifully with saffron rice and a subtle hint of zestiness that balanced the dish perfectly. The seafood linguine had the ideal balance of garlic fresh seafood tomato and a gentle kick of chilli so well executed
The cocktails paired perfectly with the food and the drinks menu had a great range of refreshing summery options☀️!
Overall we were genuinely blown away by the entire experience food service and atmosphere were all outstanding. We will definitely be back and cannot recommend it enough

Went here for a birthday lunch and was not disappointed! Food was delicious (tiramisu dessert is fantastic and a good size serving!), service was prompt and professional and friendly. Atmosphere was very relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. Will definitely return.

We loved their new summer menu, especially the clam vongole and chicken diablo! Asparagus pasta was amazing too! Love the vibes here such a gem in Grey Lynn, would highly recommend:)

We had our Run Group Christmas dinner here recently, and the food was incredible. The staff were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. We were a group of 23 people with different dietary requirements and nothing was a problem. Thank you so much Tuguy and his team. We can highly recommend it here.
