I also tasted the veg meal, and every item was prepared and served with great care. Although they say portions are limited, they generously offer extra curries. I had ordered only one curry, but they pleasantly surprised us by serving chapati as well.
The manager, Vijay Kesavallu was extremely welcoming, and the hospitality was outstanding. The service style and attention to detail were impressive, and manager even offered us an additional discount.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place for its excellent food quality, fair pricing, and warm hospitality.
Loved the new decor and ambience. Food was delicious although on the pricier side.
Tried Chicken Lollipop, cooked perfectly. It had red food colour but much less compared to other Indian restaurants nearby where chicken lollipop is extremely red in colour.
Anjappar chicken dry was extremely good and best dish we ate.
Kozhi Rasam was decent, bit on the spicier side.
Parotta with chicken curry was decent.
The only good thing during my visit was the **Dindigul Mutton Biryani**. Although it had many bone pieces, the rice itself tasted good. Overall, the experience could have been much better.
Parking can be a bit challenging during peak hours.
Overall, definitely a restaurant I’ll be returning to!
Visited Anjappar Chettinad Elite – Irving recently. The restaurant is easy to spot with decent parking, and the interior décor is nice. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill after that.
Food:
Egg Kothu Parotta: Very disappointing. It was overly mushy, and the parotta flavor and texture were completely lost.
Dungigal Mutton Biryani: This was the only standout dish. The taste was excellent and paired well with the raita, but there was very little meat and too many bones.
Dosa: Just okay, nothing memorable.
Jigarthanda: Not good at all. It wasn’t sweet enough, and the ice cream didn’t complement the drink.
Serving & Comfort Issues:
The food was served extremely hot, making it difficult to serve ourselves. The parotta came in a handled dish, but even the handle was too hot to hold. The biryani was served in a vessel without handles, which made it uncomfortable and unsafe to handle. Overall, the serving dishes were not practical for dining.
The table we were seated at was a round table, and either it was too clumsy or simply too large to manage. Reaching items placed on the other end of the table was very difficult.
Service & Management:
Service was dead slow. Food came out with long gaps between items, and even getting the check took forever. The staff seemed busy cleaning plates and tables and forgot to check on us. There was no coordination at all some items were forgotten entirely.
We ordered Jigarthanda, which was delayed and poorly prepared. While we were seated, a person in the lobby mentioned he had been waiting a long time for his parcel order, and even after that, it still took another 10 minutes to hand it over. This clearly shows poor management and lack of coordination.
Other Issues:
Food was served on plastic plates with only one spoon. At the very least, a fork should be provided eating with just one spoon is inconvenient.
Google Maps lists the place as “Elite,” but the restaurant board does not, which was confusing.
The menu card looked cheap, laminated, dirty, and worn out.
No basic soup options for kids and no idly only dosa.
Overall:
I truly didn’t like the experience. Apart from the biryani’s taste, everything else felt unorganized and uncomfortable. Maybe worth visiting only for the biryani, but definitely not for the service or overall dining experience.
The Mutton Kulambu was flavorful but could have been a bit richer and better balanced.
As the name say “Elite,” I was hoping for a more refined experience, but the high pricing didn’t quite match the quality.
UPDATE : Dec 2025
I am reducing the rating further after my recent experience on Non Veg Thali. Very few items stood out was Keerai Kootu, white rice(reason is perfectly cooked) and rasam. As usual all the curries were too much spicy to the point where authentic Chettinad flavors were completely lost. The biggest let down was Chapathi, which raised was it worth so called Elite not sure whether it was prepared by chef or someone unfamiliar in cooking? Overall it was a major miss, I hope restaurant needs to bring back the quality and authenticity!
