Lived up to the Vittles hype for me. Really loved the food – particular standouts were the lamb ribs, the milk bread with mushrooms, and the meringue desert (maybe the best desert I’ve ever eaten).
We sat at the counter which I highly recommend if you are in a pair. You can see the open kitchen and also see one of the chefs plating snacks and deserts in front of you on the counter.
The service was really good – didn’t catch his name but shoutout to the Australian guy with long hair!! He gave us great recs on food and drink. I’m not big into wine but the cocktails were delicious and I had the most lovely Japanese tea at the end.
Overall we had such a lovely dinner here and I couldn’t recommend enough. Came to about £100pp which we thought was very fair given how good the food was and we had a couple of drinks (and a tea and coffee) each – and left stuffed

A laid back wine bar/innovative plates restaurant is apparently just what Dalston needed. Some really nice wines on offer, including by the glass; I really enjoyed a 2023 Domaine Bernard St-Joseph Blanc. Food was overall good but with some misses: cockle and laverbread rice was fabulous, as was the wigmore ice cream. However poached chicken with celeriac was middling and the fried mackerel bite not that great either. Definitely recommend sitting at the communal table and watching the chefs at work.

Planque exceeds expectations every single time. Their menu is thoughtful and balanced including indulgent flavours and light airy seafood. The crab rice was decadent, punchy and all around perfect. The beef tartare is melty and gentle, and an interesting spin with a peppercorn sauce. For dessert, the Choux has always been a favourite but now that we’ve had the Wigmore Ice-cream, meringue & bread caramel… WOW that was genuinely mind blowing. To top it off, their wine list is excellently curated and the service is beyond lovely and so knowledgeable.

Phenomenal food with an equally beautiful wine list. This has been our go to celebratory spot for the last 5 years, and we hope that continues long into the future. Planque serves delicious food that is both exciting but not overcomplicated. It is perfect.

Undisputedly beautiful food… in awe of the lobster rice still, and the dessert very much stood out. The alcoholic by the glass list could afford to be a little less old world centric given the forward thinking approach to the menu and the service perhaps could benefit from loosening up a bit as it did feel oddly terse, but overall what’s not to love?

The food isn’t traditionally French in my though they have a nice French wine list. The dishes are creative, experimental, and high quality with interesting flavors. Portions are small—we ordered six dishes and two desserts for two people. I wasn’t particularly hungry so this worked for us.

Celebrated my Dad’s birthday with some friends and family. In short it was a fantastic experience, phenomenal food and flavours, service was efficient and very friendly and the atmosphere was just perfect.
