I just wanted to drop a note and thank you all for making us an incredible cake. I called and spoke with Diane and described the cake we needed for my niece’s baby shower. Not only did we get far more than we expected, the cake was absolutely perfect. The details of the cake were better than I would have imagined. The taste was perfect. I wanted to cry when I saw the cake come out. It was a disco themed cake. I can’t get over how perfect it all was. Our guests loved the cake and complicated it over and over again. Thank you for the special attention and for your perfectionism and professionalism. You guys are incredible!!!!!!!

I had made an Italian dinner for my family and invited my brother and wife over. I had planned on doing Cannoli and my brother said hey I have a fantastic place. oh my Goodness I am not a big sweet eater but these Cannoli were the best I ever had. The shell was perfect not falling apart and perfect size and the filling was beyond amazing. They were so fresh and light and delicious. I had planned to only eat half however I could not resist it was so good with a good cup of coffee. I am looking to taking the 45 minute drive up there because I can’t wait to try some of the other items as well. My son asked, next time we have Cannoli we’re have to get them fro House of Cake. Try them you won’t be disappointed,

I Purchased an Oreo Birthday Cake and a dozen Cheese Sticks. The cake was VERY dry and bland. I felt like I was eating “diet” cake. Not good at all. The cheese sticks were just ok, nothing special. The only good thing, they gave me free loaf of bread. Obviously the cash or check only thing is weird but I just so happened to have my checkbook in the car. I can’t remember the last time i wrote a check. Overall a waste of money.

If you love authentic Italian pastries and are in Chicago, you really need to stop by House of Cakes. My daughter brought home there famous cheese sticks, 4 days ago and they are still amazingly soft, in the box. We also had tried there cookies, there consistency with there ingredients, is superb. I will definitely recommend House of Cakes to everyone, stop by and try, you will not be disappointed. Stay safe and healthy.

The lady that help me was rude… Dishonest and mad that I caught her overcharging me trying to keep the extra money herself. Everything she did she had a excuse for and everyone I went to over her to remedy the problem I was finding her on side giving more lies to the upper management defending her lies. The manager n the owner saw the facts and ruled in my favor. Hopefully they value the business and let this lady go as she will loose customer for them one by one and to never return.

Stopped with my daughter. The selection is incredible. Too much to list but the carrot cake was amazing. I also bought some fresh buns to make sandwiches later in the day and they were probably the best I have ever had. I took home a pizzza bread and my friend said it was the best they have had in Illinois. Can’t wait to get back.

Nice small bakery with specialty breads and cakes. Small variety of cookies available. Items purchased are always fresh and yummy. Store is always busy. Friendly staff. Clean store. Excellent coffee cakes and cakes. Sometimes it’s so busy hard to come in the door. Only takes cash or checks!

I gave it a 3 star because pastries are so overly sweet, like seriously exaggerated on sugar – sweet inside and sugar coated on top?! Also very bready .. thick dough.. probably won’t be back.
