We’ve only been here twice, but have loved the food each time. We went with a medium heat this time, so we could enjoy the flavor and have little hit of delayed spiciness. The clarity on vegetarian and gluten-free options was helpful and it was nice to have a place to go in Lakewood on Friday before 4 when so many others are closed. Definitely gonna add this into our rotation.

We really enjoyed the spring rolls and beef noodles. The black carrot cake was also a unique dish with no carrot or cake. The owner was friendly and even came out to check on us. It seems they make everything fresh, as they were out of a few items when we visited. Just a heads up, the dining room is small, so order take out of you’re a group of 5+

First time having Singaporean food and it was awesome! The staff is very well versed in dishes they serve. They even asked me if I would like it traditionally or my choice of protein. I really liked that. I got the traditional curry and noods with chimkin. I got a side of pork bao, which kinda surprised me how it was served. Everything tasted so good I’m so glad I stopped by. Not something that you would expect, but then again the best food is always a hole in the wall.

The curry soup noodle dish will change your life. It might be the best thing I’ve eaten in my life. It’s complex, unique, creamy, flavorful and exquisite, with just the right kick of spice. The spam musubi is also fantastic. I’ve only ever ordered take out, but can’t wait to dine in some day and try their roti prata bread and explore more of their menu.

So the chicken wings are definitely not saucy wings, they’re just chicken wings. But as the place is named… DANG. How did you keep the meat so juicy but the skin so crispy? I feel like that kid who makes noodles in Blue Eye Samurai when he tastes Udon that puts his to shame. What even just happened to my world? Curry noodle soup tasted like coconut milk base, and the char kay teow had a pleasant spicy even Singaporean hot that grew but never overpowered the flavors of the dish. I see items in other reviews I must have missed on the menu or maybe it’s seasonal/ downsized to keep prices reasonable. The place was packed with ppl happily waiting an hour to eat bc they got slammed. Tables were excitedly sharing recommendations with other tables of complete strangers. The owner remained pleasant and helpful and transparent about ticket times and offering suggestions nearby to anyone too hungry to wait, but i didn’t see a single person leave empty handed. She single handedly managed the front of house solo with warmth and grace.

There’s an atmosphere to small family owned places making fresh food from scratch that will always have my heart. I hope this couple prospers. Please go visit them with patience and joy so that they never have any reason to close up shop. Thank you Dang Good Foods for being an exciting new reason why Lakewood always feels like home.

Carrot cake and roti were phenomenal. Tried several other dishes and we wanted to try more next time. Haven’t had Singaporean food in many years.

This is one of Lakewood’s hidden gems. I believe this may be the only Singaporean restaurant in the entire Midwest outside of Chicago. Everything is made fresh to order, cooked perfectly, and seasoned to perfection. If you live in Lakewood and haven’t tried this place yet, you’re missing out!

My only complaint is that the summer rolls are only available in the summer. Everybody I have taken to Dang Good Foods has agreed that the summer rolls are the most delicious and sophisticated summer rolls they have ever had, along with a delicious peanut sauce. I wish I could order them year-round.

Dang Good Foods is one of the best spots in this whole dang country. Everything on the menu is so delicious and I’m always blown away by how fresh their veggies taste! The nasi lemak is honestly to die for if you love coconut. I would eat their spring rolls every single day of my life if I could!

Having lived in Singapore for 10 years, I just found out there is a Singaporean restaurant in Lakewood! So, I decided to check it out. In terms of service, it was nice, efficient, and friendly. In terms of food, the menu is somewhat limited, and they ran out of chicken. So we had to order dishes that don’t have seafood because my spouse is allergic to seafood. We ordered the white carrot cake which was my favorite breakfast dish. I like that they can make it Singapore spicy. The dish was fine, but I think it was a little mushy because they used less oil. The char bee-hoon was a bit too salty for me. If it wasn’t for the saltiness, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. The nasi lamak was okay. The rice is missing pandan leaf, so the flavor isn’t as good. It’s not bad, but it’s not the same as the ones found at hawker stalls in Singapore. Finally, the location is nice. The restaurant itself is a cute little place with paintings of popular landmarks in Singapore.
If you have not tried Singaporean food before, give this place a try. Know that there are SO many more wonderful dishes that are not available here. Maybe it will inspire you to travel to Singapore and try more of the authentic food there.
