I recently tried the “other Akron” cheesesteak place. There is ZERO comparison! Eddie’s cheesesteak is the best around. We had a you create amazing and an original tonight, both with steak fries. Absolutely delicious! Keep up the great food. You’re my #1.

They left me a lil note on my bag and I just really love that. I think we need to support our local eateries because when I say Eddie’s never MISS they don’t miss and I freaking love it. Give them a try the food is always on point and the steak cut fries ARE SEASONED ALREADY LOL btw just to add I ordered on Door Dash and it still came fresh and hot

These are the best cheesesteaks ever. You will never find a better one. The fries and slammers are amazing as well. Once you go to Eddies you’ll never go anywhere else. I’ve been eating them since I first had his cheesesteak at the Mogadore Summer Festival, ever since then I’ve been addicted to them. I highly highly highly recommend you eat there. His food truck is amazing. I love him and all the staff. They are all very friendly and helpful.

Great and flavorful subs. I used to get these all the time when he had his food truck posted up at Akron’s downtown club Zar for late night. I haven’t had them for a while bc I live out of town but I happened to be in town and made sure to stop at Eddie’s famous cheesesteaks. Got two large subs and large fries and came out to $35. Eddie himself was even there and made them for us. He still looks the same! Doesn’t age at all with his young self. The restaurant is clean and kept well. Great location.

walked in for a quick lunch while working across the street. was quickly greeted by the cook who took my order and got down to business. my food came out in short order and I was very impressed with the portion sizes for the price. great value, the half original cheesesteak and regular fries with a 20oz coke was ~$13 before tip and they definitely don’t hold back on fries. sandwich was nicely filled, but not to the degree the fries were. they have a sauce ‘bar’ of housemade sauces, as others have mentioned the kicking ketchup was great. I found the balsamic ketchup to go great with my cheesesteak. the pepper dip kind of tasted like 1000 island, not particularly spicy but I didn’t try very much of it.
overall quite solid sandwich for a great price and awesome fries with a hefty portion.

I came into Ohio for the first time in 5 years and drove 6 hrs to visit family.
I decided to pick up some cheesesteaks from Eddie’s to take to my mother for lunch before hitting the road back to home.
You can tell there is a lot of local pride in this establishment.
I ordered a couple of full cheesesteaks, fries, reuben balls.
As I waited I started to look at old pictures on the wall and realized I was looking at Ed himself.
I love meeting a passionate business owner and he was so generous.
Before I left he thanked me for coming and even gifted me a NORKA soda (Akron spelled backwards) and told me to take cookies and hot cocoa.
The service interaction was wonderful and I definitely chose the right place to pick up lunch.
Support Ed, enjoy the cheesesteak, and embrace the local atmosphere.
Kudos.

We were in Akron meeting up with some friends from PA and wanted to stop in at Eddie’s for lunch. We didn’t realize they weren’t open on weekends as the lights were on and door opened. When we walked in we were met by the owner, Ed, who we talked to for a few minutes and he graciously allowed us to stay and made us lunch! This was like a VIP experience for us and we are very glad we got the opportunity because the food was also great and you can’t beat the prices. It was funny to see the staff’s confusion as they showed up to help prepare for a party they were hosting, but every one of them was just as friendly as Ed. It’s great to see small businesses like Eddie’s Famous Cheesesteaks & Grill and we will definitely be making another stop there the next time we are in Akron. Thank you again Ed for the special experience!

It’s February 14th 2024, my 40th Birthday and my Family and I decided to check out Eddie’s Famous Cheesesteaks located in the heart of the Downtown Akron Ohio. I knew about this cheesesteak shop because I have picked up several orders there when I was door dashing and the food smelled amazing. We stepped into Eddie’s and they had Valentines decorations all over their shop which was pretty cool and they were also celebrating 30 years of being in service, which is a really great achievement. Before we got up to the counter to order our food we were greeted by a guy who was handing out free bottles of Norka Soda which I was told was an Akron Ohio staple. Plus the restaurant was also handing out free cupcakes all to celebrate for Valentine’s Day. We ordered several different subs, I had The Eddie which is the Original sandwich offered by Famous Eddie’s Cheesesteak, it’s loaded with their seasoned cute fries and packed with a pound & half of cheesesteak nirvana. Our cheesesteaks were all full of flavorful yummy tasting goodness. The only thing is I wished the cheese was more melted and blended with the meat better but other than that it was a solid tasting sandwich. The best park of our visit was when the owner of Eddie’s came out to greet us and he gave a some free swag which was two Famous Eddie’s T-shirts. We took our food home to eat it and it was delicious.

I’ve had these many times. Cheesesteaks are excellent. Fries, too. Not partial to their sauerkraut balls, but others are, especially with horseradish sauce. Eddie is very friendly. At lunchtime, it may be a little slow. You should go here.

Eddie’s on South Main is simply delicious. I have been in multiple times and these are the best cheesesteaks in Northeast Ohio. Maybe west of Philly. On this day I added the giardiniera. The Fries are also something out of the Medina County Fair.
