Out of a need for a healthier (Organic) bread option, Southport Sourdough was born! We could not imagine the communities support and interest we would gain when beginning this journey. Bread is such a staple in our lives, yet there were no local options for simple, organic, healthy and delicious bread. Now, we are proud to announce we have expanded and are offering fresh bread, produce, local meat and more!

We arrived late in the day, desperately seeking some bread for the Thanksgiving table. The owner greeted us with a smile and offered us the last loaf of sourdough rolls…and at a discount! When we later followed directions, baking them to complement a delicious shrimp dinner, the rolls were spectacularly useful for soaking up the garlicky shrimp sauce. Southport Sourdough was just the ticket to launch our holiday!

A jem of a family-owned sourdough bakery. The dinner rolls were phenomenal. Simple organic ingredients and I love that you can bake them in their dish so they’re hot and the crust is crispy. Be sure to get there early or place an order before they sell out. You won’t be disappointed.

I preordered off the website which was very easy to use. My order was ready for pickup . I tried the sourdough baguette, large round loaf, smaller cranberry walnut. Loaf and dinner rolls. All were delicious. It is wonderful to finally have a real bread bakery in Southport. I look forward to more hours and bigger selections. Highly recommended

Made the Ferry trip to Southport from Kure Beach to get some sourdough breads. We got there about 12 and it was busy and it smelled heavenly! Highly recommend it! Support small shops! Their breads are fresh delicious and good for you.
