Met for lunch with a large group and after ordering our food it arrived surprisingly fast. I had the chicken fried steak which was stringy and not very palatable. Tried my sister’s meatloaf and found it sweet but the texture was ok.

Food was tasty, no complaints about the service. Atmosphere was more diner than restaurant but that was ok. Food came out quickly but the sides were a little on the cold side. I do have to call out their turnips, though. Despite not being hot, they were the best turnips I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Excellent flavor and I even liked the turnip roots. I’ve had a severe dislike of turnips roots my whole life, but I’d go back to Mountain View and buy just a plate of turnips as my meal.

The price is a little more than I’d expect but I’d much rather my money go to local people instead of some CEO.
The food was AMAZING!!! Sweet tea was perfect. Service was great! We will definitely be back and can’t wait to try out the seafood weekends!
For the people who had a bad experience: Yall are quick to write off a local business when they do something wrong but will continue to patronize corporations over and over again when they do the same. We need to do better in supporting our own.

Absolutely the best steak in the Upstate! Friday and Saturday nights are steak and seafood which is really special! We both had the filets tonight which were huge and cooked perfectly! Perfect medium rare with a very good baked potato and grilled mixed vegetables which were delicious as well! The steak was the best we have had in a long time (probably since the last time we were here)and better than any we have eaten in the Upstate area including Greenville. Juicy, tender, flavorful and almost could cut it with a fork! We have had the salmon and shrimp previously which were also excellent. Service is always great and friendly. The restaurant is a repurposed dairy store or so it appears so it is pretty basic which you totally forget once you get your food and start eating. Can’t wait to go back again!

I’m told their steaks and seafood is great but what they don’t say is they serve that only on Friday and Saturday. We went on a Thursday. My wife had the fried chicken and said it was tasty, single piece, with creamed corn which was good and mashed potatoes which were ok. I had a Luke warm country fried steak so disappointed, palm sized, fries which are as good as your kitchen frozen fries, just ok and coleslaw which in my opinion was real good. My wife said this wasn’t worth the 35 minute drive. However I do want to go back and try their ribeye steak which I’m told is excellent. So if your driving by and want a dodo meal to take the edge off go for it. We’ll see about the steaks soon.

I just moved here, and I was craving a meat and 3. Well, I found it today!!! The food was amazing, no need to even season or use saltnpepp. I had the fried okra, slaw, butter peas, and the macaroni. I was so happy to find this amazing meat n 3!!!!

Addition for the breakfast crowd: One of the best places for breakfast in the county! The staff are always friendly. As with any good place, be patient if they are busy. They can get a little overwhelmed, but it is worth the wait.

Another OMG moment! Everything we tried was mouthwatering and just like my Mama used to make it. I cried…she has gone to heaven. Chicken fried steak with white gravy, meatloaf, mac n cheese, crinkle fries, green beans, fried okra, mashed potatoes, BlackBerry cobbler, strawberry cake… This is a go ahead and get there kind of place! Wow!

Cheeseburger plate with 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings for the side , no drink, was $16.48. Called in my order, picked up at drive thru. No napkins , salt, pepper, ketchup were given or even offered. For $16.48 , I was shocked. Food was mediocre.
