Sitting at the counter and watching each handroll being prepared right in front of me made the evening feel so special.
The chef’s attention to detail and precision were truly impressive.
Every handroll was served at the perfect temperature with beautifully balanced flavours.
The ingredients tasted exceptionally fresh and seasonal.
I loved how each course was presented one at a time, allowing us to fully appreciate every bite.
The seaweed was crisp, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the seafood was outstanding.
The sake pairing complemented the handrolls wonderfully.
The atmosphere felt intimate yet vibrant, making it perfect for a special night out.
I would absolutely return and highly recommend!
Both times I was served by Chef Oscar, who was fantastic. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and every combination of ingredients and sauces was perfectly balanced. The timing of the hand rolls was also spot on — each roll was served at just the right moment, allowing us to fully enjoy every bite before the next one arrived.
I’d also like to mention Chef Jackie, who was amazing as well. Whenever Oscar needed assistance, Jackie stepped in immediately, helping ensure the service flow and overall dining experience stayed smooth and well-timed.
Great food, great team, and a great experience overall. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back again!
Both of us ordered the omakase menu expecting a refined dining experience, but it did not feel like fine dining and certainly did not feel worth the price. There was very little presentation, and the rolls were not introduced or explained. Many of them looked similar, making it difficult to appreciate what we were eating. The sushi rice also did not resemble the usual rounded short-grain sushi rice and tended to fall apart when eaten.
The seating arrangement also affected the experience. When we arrived about half the seats were empty, yet we were placed right next to the cashier. Each time customers paid there was noise and commotion. Guests were often standing behind us, and at times we could smell strong perfume when someone wearing it walked past. From our seats we could also see glass washing directly in front of us, which felt messy and distracting.
There was almost no interaction from the chef, which defeats the purpose of an omakase experience. The food was never prepared in front of us, and the only comment we received was asking me to start eating a new roll before I had finished the previous one. Ideally the pace of diners should be observed more carefully.
Overall it did not feel like the special birthday experience we had hoped for, and the omakase did not justify the cost.
Nori Maki Omakase – amazing value & generous experience
Had the Nori Maki & Omakase and it was absolutely worth the experience. Such great value for money with a very generous and well-curated package.
The rolls included Torotaku, Aburi Salmon Belly Ikura, Zuwai Crab & Kani Miso, Hokkaido Scallop, plus the chef’s “Trust Us” and CholesteRoll — every roll was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully balanced. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality and thoughtfully paired.
Portions were generous, the variety was impressive, and everything felt premium without the premium price tag. Easily one of the best value omakase experiences — highly recommend for sushi lovers looking for something special ✨
The food was so fresh, and included treasured recipes over 100 years old.
The CholesteRoll was unlike anything I’d had before. The Aburi Salmon, Salmon Sashimi and Wagu Roll were top grade… in fact I could go on and on! Definitely take a look at thier specials board too!
The atmosphere was wonderful and our server Ben was the BEST!
Oliver was also a friendly treat and I can’t wait to come back! 🙂
This place provides amazing value for what you pay for, we ordered a nori maki and omakase together. The rolls were bigger than we expected so left extremely satisfied. Our biggest highlight was definitely the chawanmushi! Wasabi was amazing too.
The service was fantastic and their attention to detail and customers around them is of a professional level. The omakase-like environment is both clean and friendly at the same time. We would definitely come back again if they add more things to try on their menu! Thanks for the dinner Nori Maki!
Mogliest Regards,
Your Mog Champ
We both tried the omakase sets and loved the food. We didn’t get 100% full with it but about 80% there.
However we noticed that the people who ordered nori maki or the more expensive food set get the most attention from the chef and lots of extra service (i.e. most time the head chef was around them). I’m not sure if it is the right moral value – can customer services be measured by money spent on the business? We love the food so will be back and try the nori maki set and see if we get more love from the staff.
Came here to try their omakase set and if you’re looking to have a nice dinner/omakase out for a cheaper price, give this place a go! The CHAWANMUSHI was the star of the show and was the best dish, it was so fluffy and full of umami. There is definitely enough food in the set as well to make you full despite it just looking like small rolls/food items. The staff were also friendly and lovely.
