The restaurant did not put any steak in my to-go steak ranchero platter. When I went back to the store for a refund the woman behind the counter laughed and, before I even said what was wrong or before she even looked at it, she said “They didn’t put any steak in it?” because she already knew what was wrong. This location is going downhill fast.

DO NOT EAT HERE – TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Ordered a steak and egg burrito and bit into a wing nut half way through. Had to spit the nut out! When we called to let them know, they went silent and hung up the phone.

The quality has gone down big-time. We both ordered their burritos. The amount of rice and beans was ridiculous. It was a soggy mess, like a baby made a full diaper. The meat was only on one side. And how does a Mexican restaurant not have sour cream?

Man this Abe Lardo guy really knows what he’s doing. Recommend the carne asada as well as the chicken flautas. The Churros seem to vary by location, either feeling extraordinarily authentic; or entirely disconnected from any Mexican heritage and feeling reminiscent of a cake tube. The strange cake tube version was still enjoyable so I can’t complain too much. My favorite location may or may not have been indirectly shut down by an ICE raid. No establishment could possibly take their place and be an improvement. For this reason alone I believe we should defund the agency. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We recently gave Abelardo’s another try, and while the food was technically edible, it just didn’t leave us wanting more. I ordered the carne asada plate, and my wife went with the chicken flautas. The carne asada had decent flavor, but the texture was a bit tough. Her chicken, on the other hand, was noticeably dry. The sides—rice and beans—were passable but lacked much character.
The guacamole stood out, but not in a good way. It had a strange, almost whipped texture and tasted like it had been stretched with filler—definitely not fresh or house-made. We’ve also done their Taco Tuesday several times, mostly for the value—feeding a family of four for under $25 is hard to pass up. Unfortunately, we started noticing a pattern: every time we brought home tacos, someone ended up with an upset stomach. After four or five tries, we decided it wasn’t a coincidence.
When this location first opened, everything was solid—fresh, flavorful, and consistent. But lately, the quality has slipped. Between the underwhelming entrees and the post-meal regrets, we’ve likely had our last visit.

All around amazing experience!! The woman at the counter was super helpful when I asked what her fav food was, had great recommendations. The food is fresh and SO GOOD. The queso is amazing and so is the guacamole and guacamole salsa! My boyfriend and I got the 1/2 carne asada super fries, rolled tacos, and chips w/ queso. 10/10 recommend this place. Definitely will be back!

They call this fast food but it is better than most of the Midwest Mexican restaurants in the area for sure.
I had the Steak Ranchero (forgot to get a pic before I dove in) and the flavor was amazing not the mention the serving size beats most “sit down” restaurants.
My wife had the Huevos Rancheros (pictured) and as mine full of flavor.
This is our third time here and we order the breakfast burritos to take camping with us. I do the meat lovers. They are great warmed over the fire.

OMG… I had the California burrito and my daughter had the Iowa burrito. I must say they were the BEST BURRITOS we have EVER had. The portions were HUGE, flavorful, and fresh. The staff was OUTSTANDING. We cannot wait to return for more delicious customer service and food. 20/10
