Rattan pepper chicken is spicy and addictive. Plain casserole tofu is warm and simple. Stir-fried seasonal vegetables are fresh and natural. Hot and sour soup is appetizing and activates the taste buds. Braised pork tripe and chicken is nutritious. Scrambled eggs with tomatoes exudes the warmth of home. Hunan stir-fried rice noodles fully display the flavor of Hunan. Fried pork buns are filled with happiness. Glutinous rice wine and glutinous rice balls are sweet and soft. These delicacies take you to experience a different style.

Xiaolongbao House delivers the comforting essence of authentic Chinese family dining, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars for its wide variety of traditional dishes, generous portions, and welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere.

Ambiance: 4/5
The restaurant exudes a relaxed, casual warmth that feels reminiscent of dining back home in China. It’s an ideal spot for families or large gatherings, where the focus is on conversation and sharing food rather than formality.

Authenticity: 4/5
True to its name, Xiaolongbao House captures the essence of authentic Chinese flavors — from hearty stir-fries to comforting soups and delicate dumplings. The dishes stay true to regional roots without being overly commercialized, making it a hidden gem for those seeking genuine home-style cooking.

Flavor: 4/5
Each dish delivers balanced seasoning and freshness, offering the kind of warmth and familiarity that Chinese comfort food is known for. While not overly refined, the flavors are honest and well-executed.

Service: 4/5
The staff are friendly and efficient, accustomed to managing large family tables. Dishes arrive promptly and served piping hot — a small but important detail that shows care.

Cost: 5/5
Very affordable for the quality and portion size. Xiaolongbao House proves that authenticity doesn’t need to come at a premium, making it a great option for family meals or casual gatherings.

Final Verdict:
Xiaolongbao House is a charming, family-friendly restaurant that prioritizes authentic flavors, generous servings, and affordability. It’s not about extravagance — it’s about heart, tradition, and the simple joy of sharing a good meal with loved ones.

I’ve been on the hunt for a good Sichuanese restaurant up north since my favorite Sichuanese restaurant recently closed down. I noticed the menu for Xiaolongbao House is pretty identical to those of that restaurant that closed down. I was excited to give it a try!

Lo and behold, the food is just as great! I loved all the three dishes that I ordered!

You can scan the QR code to order and pay online. Service is amiable and there’s plenty of parking.

They have a lot of dishes on the menu that I want to try. I will definitely return and bring an army of people with me. Portion is generous! I had plenty of leftover. Highly recommended!

A surprisingly good meal. The portions were large and food was tasty. The Hot and Sour soup was especially good. A meal for two was about $40 with enough in the doggy bag for another lunch. It can be a little hard to find – but is worth the effort.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is authentic and delicious.

The food always full of flavor. The buns are always cooked perfectly. Every steamed bun is perfect, soft and hot. Every fried bun is crispy and delicious. I have not had a bad dish here. And it’s all very affordable, for being a dumpling place. Dumplings can get pretty expensive. But I never feel like the cost of the food was too much for what I have been given. I always get good portions and usually have left overs!

The service is great, always friendly. The servers always make sure I have plenty of water and tea and they always check in and ask if you need any extra plates or bowls. The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is soothing and everything is nicely decorated. This is a top favorite restaurant of mine.

This place is a hidden gem, wish we tried it sooner! We were so impressed with the flavor of the hot and sour soup, perfectly balanced salt and acidity with a depth to it, great amount of mushroom and other veg. The walnut shrimp a tad on the sweeter side but the shrimp were enormous, incredibly juicy and plump. We were also pleased with the crispness of the buns (though would get pork next time instead of veg) and would order the wings again.

The service was top notch – the waiters were so proactive in filling water and tea and packaged our leftovers for us and plenty of PARKING. Love this place, we’ll be back soon!

Update:

We go to this restaurant few times a week, absolutely our to go place for authentic Chinese. Especially dumplings- while not a lot of varieties, the three types they have are all delicious.

Previous:
This is pretty much our to go restaurant – like 2-3 times a week, recently tried their dumplings and it was really good

The food is just amazing after they changed to the new owner, love all dishes I have tried so far.

Still keep going to this place as regular and have not been disappointed. Hunan Chaw Rice Noodles and Fried Toufu are some new favorites of us.

Looks like a pretty authentic Sichuanese restaurant! We got the wonton, Chongqing noodles, and the “little beef hot pot”. The Chongqing noodles were pretty spicy, and the beef too. But that’s exactly what we want!

Came back here and got the following:
Hot & sour soup
Xiao long bao
Chongqing noodles
Stir fried beef
Cauliflower
White rice

Hot & sour soup was mediocre and the Xiao long bao was okay but we had better. Everything else was good. The noodles were not as spicy this time.

This place is excellent. The eggplant is closer to Western China style (vaguely middle eastern-ish which is my preferred type). Mala fish is packed with flavor; red broth isn’t lying. Cumin lamb and dry-pot green beans were super tasty. Mapo-tofu is excellent. I asked for extra-spicy for everything and they delivered, which is super rare. Most places probably just ignore my spice request, this places doens’t fool around and i could not be happier. My lips are still numb 10min after eating — perfection!

Oh, and hey, the portion sizes are big: like when we order out we get 3 meals out of it. (usually get 3 items at a time).
