I 100% LOVE Mexican cuisine. A large percentage of my reviews on Google are Mexican food/restaurants. I often joke that I was likely a Latina in my former life because I also love to cook Mexican food. But in all seriousness this was the BEST Mexican street food that I’ve ever had. The food was delicious and seasoned to perfection. Hats off to the chefs preparing the food. If this is your first time eating here you must get the el pastor tacos. I got the steak mulitas. My husband also got the baked potato with all the toppings. The baked potato can feed at least 2-3 people. I completely forgot to take photos because we were so excited about how good the food was. The parking lot was packed full of people waiting for their food so be patient. I’ll update this post with photos when I go back because I’m definitively going back.

They make the BEST al pastor tacos and the burritos are humongous and are guaranteed to put you in a food coma. Their food is always top notch, the atmosphere is nice with the twinkle lights, and the people work hard all night to make this delicious food. They make their own tortillas fresh and the food is not overly greasy. I like to grab my dinner here and then go to the churro stand next door for dessert. If you are in Vallejo this is a must do!

Seriously legit and tasty al pastor tacos. To be clear, this is a popup in a vacant parking lot next to I-80, but the food is top notch. Self-serve bins of condiments of all kinds, including various salsa, nopales, chiles and carrots pickled in escabeche, and more. $3/taco. Two was enough for me, my son scarfed 3. No place to sit, had to eat in the car. Also an impressive array of desserts from a local purveyor of Mexican postres.

I got a burrito. And it was packed with meat and had that delicious greasiness “last bite” the delicious kind. I’ve been looking for a burrito like that for so many years. With all the delicious flavors of traditional Al pastor. . Hubby got tacos. He thought the tortillas were handmade. Give them a try- you’ll enjoy it. They need a little help with management and execution to get orders out more timely . But it was worth the wait.

These guys are legit…. Al pastor off the Trompo is fire, and let me tell you, their Tripas tacos are my favorite…. Strangely, their carne asada is terrible, the most flavorless meat I’ve ever “tasted” which is bonkers, because all their other meats are so dang good…. IDK how to explain that phenomenon, but stay away from the asada, and this place will not disappoint.

The food is absolutely delicious! The only problem is the location. It is an accident prone location as that building should not be there. I’m surprised that the state didn’t request imminent domain, considering exits from freeways typically don’t have homes or businesses next to a right turn only exit. I notice people illegally crossing that solid white line and lane, or even stopping from the exit which is reserved for exiting the freeway. Google maps shows a perfect example today 6/2/24 an accident at that exact location. That lot hasn’t sold because of the location. Just be safe and park across the street if not exiting the freeway to eat their delicious food.

Stopped to get fuel and some food, saw in-n-out burger but then noticed this place! We had al pastor tacos, a chicken burrito, and mulita. Added tons of condiments from the table lime salsa, pico, and cilantro and fresh onion. People get it to go and drive away, but we ate in the car. Super delicious pastor! With pineapple. Chicken was moist and delicious. Steak was tender and marinated.
I will remember to stop here again on the next passing through.
