We had a lovely evening for dinner at the Wild Rose! The food was delicious and they were even able to make me a non-alcoholic version of one of their Fall cocktails that was fantastic! We had the crab cakes, a salad, the wild rose seafood dish, and the toffee cake dessert!
Reservations were easy to coordinate, and we had ours for 7:45 but they were running a bit late and dinner took quite a long time. We were not in a hurry, but if you are, this might not be the best choice! Our server did a great job but it did feel like there were maybe a little understaffed that night. Just as a warning if you are looking for a quick meal, this is not the move! But, if you’re looking for delicious food and lovely ambiance, I would highly recommend!
On a different note, if you are looking for a place just to get drinks or a more limited menu, their bar/lounge space is in an old style house library and was very cool! We sat there for a bit while waiting for our table and they even had live music that night!

We like to come out to stonehurst once or twice a year and its a beautiful place. The lounge is a must see and the bartender is great. When we checked in we did find that there were a couple of glasses left over from the previous guests but otherwise the room was clean. The food is where they fell short. We come here and look forward to the prime rib. In the photos you can see the difference from a year ago (single prime rib) and last night (photo with two prime ribs). The meat was nice and tender but there was no flavor to anything. The potatoes were very bland and I had to put salt on the prime rib to just to get it some flavor. The service was good and the hostess was great, they just missed the mark on the food.

Very bad experience that speaks to the restaurant as a whole. The restaurant was running behind when we arrived, we were late to sit down for our reservation. The menu was a fixed price with a few options to choose from. The waitstaff didn’t a poor job explaining what was included and we ended up having to pay even more for what we thought was included. The food was mediocre at best and my main entree, which should have been a filet mignon, arrived extremely overcooked. When I finally got the waitstaff’s attention, she sent it back and quickly got me a new one. However never asking me how I would like it cooked. The fresh steak was cold in the center and poorly cooked. The remainder of the meal was okay but extremely overpriced for what was served. The atmosphere was decent but could not make up for the terrible food and service. I would not recommend anyone to spend their money at this business.

Wild Rose at Stonehurst Manor

We stopped by Stonehurst Manor during the day just to check out the grounds, even though the Wild Rose Restaurant was closed. The staff, especially Olivia, was incredibly helpful, giving us a warm welcome and encouraging us to come back for dinner. She even made a reservation for us on the spot, which was a great touch of hospitality.

We arrived an hour before our reservation to enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting and enjoy the sitting area inside. The grounds are stunning, with a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. We were thoroughly impressed with the level of attention and service from every staff member we interacted with. From the moment we arrived to the end of our visit, the experience was top-notch.

Would highly recommend stopping in not just for the food, but to enjoy the grounds and the impeccable service.

We had reservations for a group of 5 on Valentine’s Day. It was a fixed menu at 89$ person. Our waitress was inattentive and barely checked on us through out the night. The food ranged from underwhelming to straight up inedible. The starter was 2 chewy scallops. The side salads were wilted, tiny and seemed to be prepared ahead of time. The bed of lettuce that the scallops were plated on was larger than the actual side salad. One person in our party ordered the filet. The waitress said it would come out medium rare to medium, but it was “up to the chef how it’s cooked”. When it came out it was completely dry and over done. There was no pink at all. This was mentioned to the waitress, she did ask if we’d like to send it back but so much time had already passed we just wanted to leave. A few of us ordered the lobsters and those were also over done. It was impossible to get the meat out of the shells without completely shredding it. We wanted to order cocktails from the bar but the waitress told us not to because the bar tender was so backed up. She also requested that we stack all of our own plates which was difficult because they were still full of our untouched food. We were looking forward to a fun evening with good food and drinks but this experience completely ruined the vibe. I’ve never left a negative review for a restaurant before, but I have not been able to move past how disappointing this was.

My husband and I made a reservation for New Year’s Eve and we were taken on time.
The hostess said “let’s go”! She was cute about it, so was able to pull it off.
I had booked the reservation through Open table so I did not know it was a price fix menu. $109 per person for a four course meal.
A little steep, but it was NYE so it was not a shocker. What was a REAL shocker was the portion sizes. It was a stretch calling it a four course meal.
The appetizer was a one (possibly two) bites. A small cucumber slice with salmon mousse on top. TINY!!
The lobster bisque barley covered the bottom of the dish and was lukewarm.
My husband had filet mignon (steak tip size) and lobster tail. The lobster tail was a half of a tail.
My chicken dish was a good portion, but I gave more than half to my husband because he was still starving. We have decent appetites but not huge. I always take half my meal home.
The dessert was also tiny portions.
If you’re going to charge for a four course meal you should provide full portions.
I had one drink (which I had to ask for more alcohol because it was a glass of juice).
We easily could have gone to a high end restaurant, had FULL portions and spent the same. $300 with tip and only 1 drink. I am
Not exaggerating when I say much of the food was doll sized portions. If I were a chef there I would be embarrassed serving this food at that price.
Well, fortunately we had snacks in the car which we ate after to fill up.
We stopped in the next day to tell them how disappointed we were. The girl we spoke to seemed genuinely sorry we were so unhappy and told us to write a review. I’ll give her 5 stars.
We have been here several times and I’m not sure we will be back or not.
I forgot to mention we spoke to some other couples who were very disappointed as well.

We have been coming to the Manor for 14 years on our wedding anniversary. We got married there in 2011. We love the tradition and look forward to the food every year. This year’s trip was a bit lack-luster, unfortunately.

We sat for a good 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. A quick – “Hey, I’m your waitress, I’ll be with you soon, we’re a bit understaffed tonight.” would’ve gone a long way. A lot of people in the dining room had the same expression we did of not looking impressed about how long it was taking to be spoken to. A suggestion on nights where you’re understaffed, it’d be awesome if the hostess could serve some water and the rolls when you’re seated, since everyone gets some anyways.

We sat about 5 minutes before the couple next to us; they were greeted before us and ordered before us. Needless to say, their food came out before ours – as one would expect when you order before another table. However, their order was put in only about 5 minutes prior to our order, but our food came out a good 15 – 20 minutes after theirs. Mikayla was great about it though and offered us a free anniversary dessert for our long wait on entrees.

We’ve had the Lobster ravioli there before, and the order my husband got the other night was less than exciting compared to previous years. It still tasted good, but no where near as good as it has been in the past. There used to be chunks of lobster in the sauce, but there were no chunks the other night. There also seemed to be less ravioli – at least 1 or 2 less than previous years. The cost has gone up, the size has gone down. I understand costs of everything have gone up, but you don’t raise the price and reduce the portion, do one or the other. My prime rib tasted good, but it was barely warm – I did order medium rare, but it seemed cooler than it should’ve been. I also wish there were au jus like there used to be.

Please update your website menu, the prices are wrong. There’s not a huge difference, but I like to scout out what I’ll get and sometimes cost is a factor – it’d be nice to know going into it what I should expect for a bill.

Overall, we were there for almost 2 hours, when it should’ve been an hour and 15 to an hour and a half. Hopefully next anniversary’s trip is more worth the trip. We travel from about an hour away, and love the annual pilgrimage, but we’ve noticed a decline in quality over the past few years. We’d love to continue coming for our anniversary meal, but it’s a lot of time and money to do so, and it seems less and less worth it each year.

We are staying in Jackson at a quaint little hotel, we asked several people where to go, and shockingly nobody referred us to this restaurant. After doing some online reviewing, we decided this looked like a restaurant we would enjoy. The service was over the top, from the young kid, who greeted us, to the waitress…, it was a quiet atmosphere, the food Exceptional (and we do a lot of fine dining).

I ordered the prime rib, it was, without question the best prime rib I have ever had. My partner ordered chicken, and that was equally as exceptional. We could not decide between bruschetta, and the fire roasted Brie; I would give both of those 3/5 (everything else was 5/5).

We actually asked our waitress to give compliments to the chef! It was THAT good! We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

I was looking forward to this place, but it really did not deliver. We had 6:00 reservations, the food came out after 7:30. My son ordered the Filet Mignon Au Poive (less sauce), and the filet was underwhelming at best, I ordered the Ribeye & Gorganzola pizza and it came out cold. My daughter order the kid steak and enjoyed it, my wife had the The WIld Rose pasta dish, and thought it was oaky. Overall, we all said we would not return. Honestly, it was probably the length of time it took to get our food that started everything down a negatve path, but once mine came out cold, and with the filet not looking or tasting great, that did not help things.

We love JANET!! She was the best waitress so informative just lovely. My girlfriend and myself have been coming up to North Conway for about 15 years. Stayed at all different places but the Stonehurst had always been so special. We have to always stop in due a cocktail in the fireplace room. The last few years we have stayed and enjoyed it. Breakfast and dinner included with our stay. Great food. We have always wondered about the hot tub. Unfortunately for us it is always closed after thanksgiving. We would love to see that change. We absolutely would recommend this iconic winter cozy retreat to anyone
