This place used to be one of my favorite Japanese steakhouses 15 years ago, but unfortunately it’s really gone downhill which is very sad to see in this small island town. For tourists, they still may enjoy since they know nothing less, but for the locals, it’s a shame to see it this way.
We waited over an hour and a half for cook to arrive when they WERE NOT busy compared to plenty of other time we have come and they were slammed. Once he finally arrived, our server forgot to turn on the grill. So we sat there another 10 minutes just waiting for the grill to heat up after he realized. It just felt really disorganized.
On top of that, the portion sizes have definitely gotten smaller. You’re paying the same prices (if not more), but getting noticeably less food than before.
They also haven’t had a sushi chef for months, which is disappointing for a place that advertises sushi. It really limits the menu and takes away part of what made this place special.
The food still tastes good — I’ll give them that. But good food isn’t enough to justify a 1.5+ hour wait, smaller portions, and overall lack of organization. It’s just not worth it anymore, which is sad because this used to be a go-to spot for us and our family. The kids love it, but it’s unfortunate to want to venture out of our town to expect better service.

Food was delicious, chef was entertaining, and the ambiance was family friendly. I will be returning!
I came on a Friday night so they were pretty busy, but we were seated within 5 minutes. There were many families and couples dining in, so it’s great for groups.
Our chef Don Pedro aka Dante was extremely entertaining, funny and a great chef! He made the dinner lively and enjoyable. The server was attentive and the food was delicious.
I ordered the shrimp and chicken tempura as an appetizer and it was fried to perfection. For my entree I ordered the steak and shrimp dinner. Chef cooked the steak perfectly, seasoned it so good with garlic butter, and the sauces were tasty as well. I recommend asking for both the shrimp (yum yum) sauce and the steak ginger sauce as well for added flavors.

We were looking to try a new Hibachi restaurant other than the one we typically go to so we came to Kabuki. Our experience was great. The food was good, nothing different than most hibachi restaurants. The staff were all friendly. We would definitely go again.

This was the very first Japanese Steak House that I took my son. 12 years later it is still there in the very same place. I am positive that the cook was the very same guy. He was so funny and entertaining. Food was also very good and plentiful.

The food was amazing and so was the waiter and the chef. The only blemish on the night was having to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time and seeing that another tables bill got completely messed up. Didn’t let it bring our night down. Would definitely go back if I am on the island again.

Tuesday night birthday dinner. Arrived 30 minutes after opening at 6 pm, and was told there was going to be a 35-minute wait. Was seated at 645 to a full table. Waited 20 minutes for a drink order. The cook came at 750 and began cooking, then we received our soups and salads as he was serving up the rice to us. The cook wasn’t entertaining and seemed confused about who got what. The birthday boy didn’t even get acknowledged and the waiter was informed during ordering. Drink refills happened once. When the hostess was bringing to-go boxes, we informed her we didn’t want our appetizer anymore. She immediately went to the kitchen and brought it out and cheerfully said no charge. Really, I would hope so. It’s been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour.

We had reservations at 7. The chefs?? were short handed so we sat through a whole seating before our turn. We got out at 10:15. The dinner was at best average. The ventilation was poor. I would never recommend. The food tasted like Chinese take out so do not waste your money or expect a nice dining experience in comparison to others available.
