Came here close to one. Just two people eating or maybe four other tables that were full but they were winding down with their food so nobody else was getting served. We just had two burgers, two fries, a milkshake and iced tea. Took a little while to get the burger, but wasn’t too bad. What was awkward? Was the fries came out later. Like there’s nobody else getting food served to them at that moment, so the kitchen couldn’t have been too busy and I didn’t see delivery orders going out or things like that . I did see another table as we were eating have the same thing. A thing of fries came out later after the burgers were delivered so maybe that is the way they do it there. The burgers were really good. The fries probably could’ve been a little bit crispier. My daughter said the milkshake was average. The weird thing was the server took our fries before they were all gone, and my daughter, nor I realize that until he had pulled them away. Overall, very good I will totally go back really good experience

Visited on a Monday for an early dinner. Location used to be an old corner gas station. There is outdoor seating by the old gas pumps and indoor seating inside with well appointed decorations. We were greeted when we entered and then seated ourselves. Waitress was prompt, friendly and kept our glasses full. Ordered two LOYO burgers, added bacon on one (for an upcharge) as well as some sweet potato fries and house fries. Food arrived quickly and was the appropriate temperature. Burger had lots of flavor and fixins’ complemented it well. Both sets of fries were well seasoned but the sweet potato fries were not crispy. Enjoyed the visit and service… will have to visit again.

We had such a great date night here! Our waiter Brandon was amazing — friendly, quick, and spot-on with his suggestions. We started with the Heritage Pork Rinds appetizer (sweet and spicy perfection!), then tried the Buckin’ Berry Goat Burger and the McKinney Melt with bacon and avocado — both were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The food, service, and vibe made the whole night perfect. We’ll definitely be back and asking for Brandon!

We visited LOYO Burgers with a small group of 5 adults and 3 kids. The waitress greeted and seated us quickly, and was mostly attentive during our stay (glasses dods go empty, though). All of us ordered something different, and we all loved our selections – how often does that happen?! We’ve been a fan of Local Yocal for years – their Farm to Market store, the BBQ & Grill (especially the Father’s Day BBQ Buffet!), the LY Outfitters (clothing store), and now LOYO Burgers. So much to love!

This isn’t an overly large place, so be mindful when you visit as you might incur a wait.
We ordered a couple loyo burgers, fries, and a double order of the wings. The burger was a typical smash burger, but didn’t come with fries, so we ordered some. The fries were crispy and salted. The wings were probably the best part of the meal. The sauce was slightly different from a usual wing sauce, but IMO, was better. It was so good we had to order some more wings.
Overall, what we ordered was fine and in case of the wings, quite tasty. Outside of the regular burger, everything seemed pricey for what it was. But this is likely the new normal, unfortunately.

We decided to try Loyo Burgers and honestly, it was weird from the very start. They just said “open seat space,” so we sat down… and then waited forever without anyone even introducing themselves. I finally had to get up and ask for menus and a server.
I ordered a burger and a Greek salad. Added mushrooms to the burger (which turned out amazing — really tasty and made the burger so much better). But my salad? They brought the wrong one first, then replaced it, but drowned it in way too much dressing.
The wait for the food was painfully long, and when I asked for the check, they told me “your server will bring it.” Instead, we just sat there waiting again until another waitress came by asking if we wanted to order more. At that point, I was just trying to pay and leave.
The burger gets points, but the service and that salad? Definitely pulled the whole experience down. I would’ve given more stars if they knew how to handle basic service.

Started with a Coke to kill off the cigar ghost from Hutchins BBQ last week. Wagyu patties here slap—McKinney Melt is a greasy Picasso, Spicy Vaquero kicks like a bull.
Good vibes, cold beer, 70s jams, no BS service.
Burgers so stacked they should come with building permits.

Charming spot, but veggie burger needs work
We visited this burger joint for a Thursday lunch date — the location is perfect, right near McKinney’s historic downtown, and the ambience is really warm and inviting.
As vegetarians, we tried two of their burgers with Veggie patty sub. While the sauces were flavorful and well done, the veggie patty itself was quite disappointing — soggy and lacking texture. It really brought the whole experience down. A bean- or potato-based patty with some crunch would make a world of difference.
Overall, it’s a great place to hang out, but if you’re going for the vegetarian option, it might leave you underwhelmed.

Came here on a Monday night and found out that they have happy hour all day long. They were busy, but the service was great. We enjoyed the fried pickles, the loaded fries, the loyo burger, and a milkshake. There were plenty of tables to seat at and they also have a bar area. We enjoy a light beer and went with the 903 Yocal beer, which was a great recommendation.

I ordered their classic Loyo Burger with wagyu beef, and it was absolutely delicious from the very first bite! The waitress even asked how that first bite was, which was so thoughtful. Plus, the price was very reasonable. Located in Old Town McKinney, it’s a fantastic local spot worth supporting. A friend who’s lived here a long time recommended it, so I brought another friend along today, and we both loved it. I’ll definitely bring my wife and family next time—this is a place you really have to try at least once!
