Shad (owner) is so warm and friendly, and clearly makes an effort to get to know people and customers. I even met his little dog.
We were originally sitting outside waiting for a table inside, but as outside was so toasty (outside heaters and fireplace) we stayed out there and had a great time despite it raining there was plenty of shelter and warmth.
The service was fabulous, the servers were very attentive and served with a smile. Prices were reasonable, £28pp for starter and main course. As I have a nut allergy I usually don’t eat Indian, but, it was nice to eat freely as most of their dishes avoided nuts and I didn’t get any allergic reaction. I tried a dish with chicken, mango and sweet potato curry.
All main courses come with poppadoms, naan and rice options.
When I’m next down from London, would definitely make another visit.
Food was great also, I couldn’t finish so took mine for lunch the next day.
Nice cosy interior had a nice homely atmosphere when filled with customers. The outdoor seating area was inviting, unfortunately too cold this time of year I think.
The food itself was outstanding – beautifully presented, so much flavour, and clearly made with care and fresh ingredients. Each dish was perfectly balanced, and you could really taste the quality.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere created by the lovely team. Their kindness and hospitality made the whole experience feel extra special.
I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough!

Go again: yes
On entering, there is no sign telling people what to do, did not know if we just sat, wait or went to the bar. Waiting did nothing so… to the bar.
Maître’d and/ or sign would be good…
That said, the rest of the experience was nearly flawless.
It has been at least ten years since I ate here last. There is now a simplified menu, unlike most Indian restaurants. Everything you need to enjoy a meal, but without the complications.
Popadoms and accompliments were swift to arrive, shortly followed by a beverage and order.
The food was really good, I found the lime pickle too overpowering, but in small amounts it was very tasty.
The mains, well truly great… (personally the madras was very mild, tikka masala in heat). But the flavours are really good.
I am one to try the side dishes, but they were so good I ate them all (I regret this now lol), mains were to perfection.
So to the marked down parts, and by no means this is not a reason not to visit.
Attentiveness: had to ask for more drinks, no check on how the meal was.
Honestly; that is it!
Nothing I could fault… other than me leaving it ten years to come again, thank you for a great meal.
Our waiter was knowledgeable about their food when asked about what was and wasn’t vegan. They adapted items to make them suitable for me including making chapati instead of naan which was very much appreciated, we’d come back here in a heartbeat!
I was surprised there is a set price, so you pay 25 pounds for a main meal only? They say you get extras like poppadoms sauce naan, rice included. Well it was 4 of us, they brought two bowls of rice, and two naans, clearly trying to skim on the rice for that price. Had to ask for more of course
Then I had chicken tikka, there was maybe 5 small pieces of chicken, never seen such small portions at the Indian restaurant before, and for the price like that.
I should have taken the pictures of it but guess I was in a slight shock of it all.
Maybe that is just normal down here in the South, be robbed and not ask any questions.
Don’t know. Defo will try a different place next time.
The service is here was absolutely shocking, from start to finish one of the worse experiences in my life. Painfully slow, didn’t check if we where happy with food, forgot dishes, didn’t check if needed more drinks, as you will in this place by the way as its a absolute furnace in there and very cramped tables. You have to ask for everything, asked for the bill, couldnt be arse waiting any longer so went up, no one at the till.. Then he asked me what I had and jotted it donw on a calculator, very unprofessional and didn’t have a clue, the staff here are horrendous, one knew what they where doing.
Food was just average, don’t get very much of it either, nothing to write home about, had far far better at much cheaper restaurants. Very overpriced for what you receive. £28 a head set menu..
I removed the 10% service charge which they added on the bill as I was so disgusted with it. Customer service diabolical. I’ll never return!
Beautiful setting. Amazing staff with friendly service. Best food at any Indian restaurant we have been to.
Set 2 course menu currently £28, however spent more with drinks.
Always have an incredible experience.
Thank you to Shad, Sarah and their team.
