I love the food here at Viet Nom Noms in Bellaire. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is my go-to place whenever I am shopping at H-E-B across street. The menu is not complicated. I have tried vermicelli bowl and banh mi salad so far. The flavors were good. The prices are even better. I could eat here everyday, if I live nearby.

We really enjoyed both the chicken banh mi and the pork vermicelli bowl! I was a little nervous to come here because there seems to be mixed reviews but the staff was very nice to us and the food was prepared fresh and was delicious! The price was also great! We will definitely be back.

It was my first time visiting this place today and I absolutely loved it! I had a Banh mi and an ice cream with banana rolls. The price was reasonable and the food was great. The owner was there and he was super friendly. I went 10 min after they opened, there were a couple of people, but it was a very chill atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back soon.

My wife was out running errands and saw this place and knew I had it marked to try so she stopped in and picked me up a grilled pork banh mi sammy and an order of three small fried eggrolls. The pork sammy was tasty and the one eggroll I got was really good…shared the others with my wife and grandbaby, all gave their seal of approval. We’ll be back.
Second review……My wife has picked up take out before but yesterday was my first sit down visit. Ordered the vermicelli bowl with steak, the steak had great flavor, vermicelli rice noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, daikons, green onions, fried onions, cilantro, peanuts and I got the spicy Viet Sauce, lots of crunch from the fresh veggies and the sauce did deliver some heat…me likey! We shared 4 pork fried egg rolls. My wife sampled my vermicelli bowl and liked it. I enjoyed an iced Viet coffee.

Absolutely amazing. The menu has so much customization that I order something new every time I come. The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty.
The owner himself is worth visiting for. He has so much love and passion for what he does and he’s always eager to make my experience flawless. Please keep up the good work!

ETA: after reading through other reviewers it seems like the protein portion is one of the most common complaints, but anyone who leaves less than a 5-star honest review gets an incredibly snarky reply from the owner; one even stating “don’t ever come back, since you obviously don’t have good taste”. That’s wild to me, as any successful business owner knows that if the only less-than-stellar reviews you receive are of common theme, it usually is not a fluke. So yes, protein is always the most expensive ingredient to source for any restaurant, but that doesn’t mean the reviewers are wrong and it certainly doesn’t show any semblance of professionalism to reply in that way. I’d love for this concept to do well and to grow, as I genuinely think a Viet place like this is unique and a cool idea, but I think the blame being shifted onto displeased guests is the wrong direction to be looking for fault and will not help a business flourish in any way.
There was no one else there when we went, so service was fast and very friendly. The food however, was very lacking. I took it home and cooked more shrimp to add to my salad since there were very few and it was primarily lettuce in a very small bowl. The spring rolls were also the tiniest spring rolls I’ve ever gotten from a Viet restaurant before, and again the protein was abysmal. The peanut sauce was pretty bland.
It was quite a bummer since this place reminds me of a Viet version of a Chipotle (although in a Chipotle salad, it’s about 50/50 on the protein to lettuce ratio), which is amazing as a concept since it’s quick+easy+customizable but all in all you just do not get enough protein/food for the price you’re paying, especially compared to other Viet places.
They do have an option for extra protein, but with how little they give to begin with I don’t think the additional $5 charge would add much.

Food was good and service was great! – perfect for a quick and easy lunch. I had the steak banh mi which was well-seasoned. Tried their lychee lemonade – so refreshing!! (I’m normally not too crazy about lychee or lemonade, but I had to try it because of the cute graphic by the register!)
Also, a great selection of refreshments in their cooler~

First time today and I was hoping it would be what I was hoping for since it’s so close to my office. I only ordered the pork Banh Mi and it is not a traditional tasting one. The bread was not the best quality as it crumbled apart in my hand and lacked flavor. The pork was not marinated with the typical lemon grass, fish sauce taste. The portions as far as carrots and cilantro, etc. was skimpy at best. I will drive farther in town to Chinatown for a real Banh Mi next time. Nice guy working the register though! He was prompt to greet and very friendly.

This place was sanitary and followed all safety measures in place. The service was good. The Banh mi tofu tasty, holding mayo not a problem.. My friend Vermicelli Chicken bowl. The reason for 3 stars is the peanut sauce with spring rolls was tasteless brownish coloured water.
