Haven’t been here in a long time. Boy, what happened? Pastrami sandwich had very little meat. French fries were DARK BROWN AND SOFTY. We walked in around 1:00 so obviously they didn’t change the oil from the night before. Hate that I have to ask for an extra napkin. Like how am I going to eat this messy sandwich with the single napkin my utensils are resting on?
The wait staff was kind and warm. The cashier was rude. Didn’t greet us or acknowledge is when we walked in. Just kept talking with her coworker. When I went to pay, she just snaps the money out of my hand.
I used to love coming here to satisfy my pastrami craving but gotta find a new place or go into the city.
Sis the owners change or something? Yikes. Update the place a little. Spend some money on your moneymaker. Place looks like its stuck in 1975, and not in a charming way.

Had lunch the other day……..it never disappoints! The pastrami is always tender and flavorful, and the matzoh ball soup tastes just like home. The staff is super nice and remembers regulars, which makes every visit feel special. It’s a cozy, old-school deli that still gets everything right — easily one of my favorite spots in Westchester!

I have had other great pastrami sandwiches from different places of New york. 22$ for THIS “hot pastrami” is OVER PRICED! This sandwich its extremely small for this price specially compared to other pastrami sandwich spots. The sandwich was barely warm and the bread was not fresh. The pastrami tasted pretty bland and was definitely dry. Like a previous review stated, all the meat was piled up in the middle leaving the edges of the sandwich was just bread and mustard. I wouldn’t mind the price if the taste, quantity and quality was up to par. First and last time. That being said, the people were pretty friendly.

As someone that’s Jewish, it genuinely disappoints me to write this. I’ve been coming to this place for a long time and I’ve never had much of an issue besides usually fast food experiences, orders inconsistent etc. but it’s good still when it’s correct. I’ve gotten many orders made wrong, even by the owner herself when she’s stepped back behind the counter to help out. There is a lack of passion and attention, I say this because my main issue is, the owner is extremely racist. The lack of attention she brings to the restaurant makes her not realize she’s speaking so loudly other people can hear her, saying hateful remarks towards Hispanic people and Arabic people. As a Jewish person who has experienced antisemitism I do not condone this type of behavior, nor do I believe that a business owner should be saying these hateful comments as loud as she was with a Hispanic staff that doesn’t really understand English that well so that aren’t aware of what their employer is even saying about them. This was my last straw with this place, which also is an extreme health code violation but the only Jewish deli in the area. Shame

When you dine in, they provide each table with a small plate of sliced pickles. If you don’t eat them all, at the end of the meal they collect the plate with the remaining uneaten pickles and shortly thereafter re-serve them to other customers. This was done by the guy cleaning the tables and he used his bare hands to transfer the pickles to new dishes. Saw this first hand.

Epsteins of Hartsdale is the place to go if you want the best pastrami sandwich ever. Remember to ask for the second cut because that is juicy and delicious. The first cut tends to be more lean and doesn’t have the tender and juice you want. The knishes are great and their pickles are terrific. All of their food is really good. In addition to the pastrami, they have great corned beef, really good chopped liver, great coleslaw, and good chicken soup. There are so many other items. But I can’t put them all in this review. The service is good. The service people are lovely and all in all It’s a great experience. Go there, you won’t be sorry.

We use Epstein’s every year to cater our holidays. They do an amazing Job. Frank is the nicest guy and is super helpful. I needed my large order corrected (which was probably my fault) and he didn’t hesitate to take care of it. Really amazing. Food’s great and reasonable and the service is excellent. Don’t hesitate.
