How is it possible that I just picked up the cake and it was melted? Terrible. 60$ for bad service.

I want to clarify that my concern is not simply about the cake being “soft.” I understand what a mousse cake is. However, the texture and presentation of the cake I received were not consistent with what I would expect from a well-established Italian pastry business that has been operating for many years and is known for quality.
When I placed the order over the phone, I mentioned that it was my first time ordering and asked for guidance. At no point was I informed about the cake’s specific consistency or handling recommendations. Had that been explained, I would have made a more informed decision.
The cake did not appear properly structured — as shown in the picture, it was extremely difficult to serve and looked collapsed rather than simply soft. Even ice cream cakes maintain more structure than what we experienced. While the flavor itself was good, the overall presentation and texture prevented us from fully enjoying it.
I appreciate your response and the invitation to return, but my review reflects my genuine experience. My intention is not to criticize unfairly, but to share honest feedback based on what occurred.

Bought a tres leche cake for my son’s birthday because he loves the milk in the cake. We were disappointed with this cake. It was dry, absolutely no leche. The fruit inside was however a nice surprise. Never had fresh Strawberries in the filling in a tres leche cake before. I’m not impressed on this purchase. Will consider other options.

Best Italian bakery. They have bite size squares of almost every cake they sell. You can buy them by the dozen or separately. I always offer to bring cake to wherever I’m going now bc chocolate, vanilla, Terramu, rainbow cake, strawberry, you can bring them all and it doesn’t cost a fortune. Everyone loves loves them. Heading there today to get our Thanksgiving dessert.

Finally made it here after mistakenly going to the restaurant next door on previous visit.
As I walked in, the shelves looked empty. It turns out the cookies here sell pretty quickly. I saw 2 gentlemen carrying out a few boxes.
Was recommended the Apple turnover by the friendly staff. Really good . So was the cranberry muffin.
A bit disappointed at not having iced coffee in July. Also no restroom or indoor seating. Advised to go next door as establishment is same owner.
Overall a good experience and shall return.

This is a counter-service spot with a simple layout—cakes displayed on the left, bread on the right as you walk in. The service is unremarkable—not rude, but certainly not warm. In the afternoons, the counters are typically staffed by a group of teenagers who always seem slightly overwhelmed.
But despite the lackluster service, the quality of their baked goods keeps me coming back. Their products are consistently excellent, making up for any shortcomings in hospitality.

I’ve had so many great experiences over the 40 years I’ve been enjoying Cardinali’s outrageous sausage bread, pastries, especially the tender, flaky and delicious apple turnovers -perfectly sweet without going overboard. And they weigh about a half pound each. Mmmmmm.

Still on my quest to find the best strawberry shortcake on LI. There’s a lot of well known popular bakeries on LI that make stale cakes, this bakery is the first cake that isn’t stale which is a huge plus in my book.
This strawberry shortcake is 9.0/10
Buttercream frosting – perfect amount of sweetness, and perfect amount of fluff.
Sponge layer cake – right amount of moisture. The picture looks like it’s dry but it isn’t. Could be slightly more spongy.
Strawberry filling – It’s a bit too sweet and bit too thick. I’d say make it 10% less sweet and 15% less thick to make this cake perfect.

The black and white cookies and whole wheat bread were wonderful, and the young woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I’m so glad this bakery is within walking distance; I’ll be tempted to come every day.
