this is me and my boyfriend’s favorite place to eat! the food never disappoints. we love the miso soup and edamame. the super dragon roll is my favorite. my boyfriend is half japanese and he’s picky when it comes to finding good japanese food and he loves coming here. it’s the only place we’ll go for sushi now. sometimes the wait time to be seated and for the food to come out can be quite long but it’s worth it!

I’ve been eating at Happy Salmon for 15 years. Having lived in Japan it’s difficult for me to find sushi that reminds me of my time there. Happy Salmon respects rice. If you know, you know. I love this place and it’s our family comfort food.

There is no gluten free soy sauce. I bought some to leave for other customers and myself bc this place is so great. Mostly I bring my own GF soy sauce;).

This is really a special place. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, the owners are warm and friendly, and the food is dynamite. They really know how to select good seafood. There are some people complaining about the wait, but that is because they have one sushi chef and she makes all the sushi herself. It is lovingly and expertly prepared.
Basically a perfect restaurant.

I’m hesitant to post a good review because I want this place to remain as I experienced it. Have you ever eaten something and felt gratitude? It’s so good. The sushi rice was warm and fresh. The fish was perfect. I’ll never forget this place.

The best sushi by far I’ve had in this area! I love the cozy ambiance. Definitely give yourself some time when planning your visit here. Every time we’ve come for dinner, there’s only two people working- one making the sushi & one working the floor. It’s worth the wait, service is good & sushi is DELICIOUS!

My Mixed Bag Experience at Happy Salmon
Hey folks! Wanted to share my recent outing to Happy Salmon in Safety Harbor.
First things first, the wait for the food… much longer than I anticipated. I’m all for taking the time to make a meal right, but this felt like a bit of a stretch.
Now, about the food. It was, okay. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t knock my socks off either. I was hoping for that ‘wow’ factor, especially after the wait, but it ended up being pretty average. Nothing to write home about.
On the plus side, the place itself has a decent vibe. Definitely laid-back. But, if you’re looking for a culinary adventure or a quick bite, this might not hit the mark.
All in all, I’m giving Happy Salmon a solid 3 stars. It’s not off my list, but I’m not rushing back either. Maybe it was just an off day? I might give it another shot down the road. Until then, the search for my go-to seafood spot continues!

Blink and you can miss this gem! I would personally like to thank the staff for making us feel so welcome! They really go out of their way with the details here. I felt as if they had asked me themselves to enter their establishment. The ambiance is cool and enthralling while the food definetly follows up well. Everything we tried was good. If you are feeling particularly adventurous ask them for the blowfish sake. Takes some time to make and it comes tall but believe me it’s an experience you will not forget. Hats off to you fine folks!
