Sooo good.
Okay, so we came to Tiverton to pick up a cat tree that we got off Facebook Marketplace, and we arrived to the town at around 8 p.m. We organised the pick-up, and half an hour later we were left hungry and cold in this random town in Devon. So I pulled out my phone, checked Google Maps, and decided to come to this restaurant — and thank God, because the food was so delicious. It’s incredible. We came really last minute and they were very accommodating. They sat us down and then gave us some food.
The food was so good. I think my boyfriend had a pizza and I had the salmon pasta — chef’s kiss, so yummy. And then to finish it all, the waitress asked for my ID, and as a 24-year-old woman who doesn’t get asked so often nowadays, I really appreciated it, so thank you.
But yeah, I had tiramisu afterwards and, okay, like… a special dessert in my eyes is a normal tiramisu. It was really good, but it was a normal tiramisu. Still, I really appreciated them, and I don’t think I’ll be going again because I hope I never find myself in Tiverton again — but it was really delicious, so thank you.

I recently dined at this Italian restaurant and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a cozy, authentic Italian vibe.

We started with the oysters, and they were incredibly fresh — clean, briny, and beautifully presented on ice with lemon wedges and a light mignonette sauce. You could really taste the freshness of the sea in every bite. They were perfectly chilled and served at just the right temperature, which made them even more enjoyable.

For the main course, I had the pasta, and it was cooked al dente — exactly how it should be. The sauce was rich, flavorful, and clearly made from high-quality ingredients. The seafood dishes were equally impressive, perfectly seasoned and cooked with care. Every plate looked as good as it tasted.
The service was attentive without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, especially for wine pairings that complemented the meal beautifully.
To finish, we had tiramisu, and it was the perfect ending — light, creamy, and not overly sweet.

Authentic local Itlain feel and atmosphere.
Great service at a busy time.
The food was excellent – right down to the Banoffee Pie, which I have seldom tasted as good as. Good portions too.
There’s a pride in the food they deliver to your table and you feel it.
Highly recommend- groups accommodated but do book?

I will start by saying Italian isn’t really an option I think of when eating out. In my experience it is usually average Italian food with a high price tag.
The food at Ponte Vecchio was good but I find it difficult to understand why those I dined with rave about it. I had the caprese for starter – olives are a nice touch but the tomato and mozzarella had little taste.
My main was the pollo diavola – the chicken was a bit dry, potatos were slightly firm and for personal taste a bit more chilli was needed.
That said – the food was well presented, hot and time between courses was spot on.
The crème brulee is the best I have had – even rivalling those I had in France. Smooth as velvet and gorgeous taste. My only disappointment was, unlike the starter and main the portion was tiny – ramekin was smaller than the base of a wine glass!
Atmosphere was good – not overly busy which was a bonus as we were sat by the front door and got blasted with cold air when it was open. This area needs a rethink as we had to squish together a bit so one of the party didn’t have to move their chair every time someone came in. Others at the table got blinded by the sun.
Service and the staff were the highlight – lovely friendly and professional servers . Liked the water bottle already being on the table – pet peave is having to ask for this.
The visit here hasn’t changed my opinion on Italian as a choice when eating out however, I’m not opposed to returning should others I’m dining with want to come back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at our favorite restaurant, and I couldn’t be happier with today’s experience! As regular customers, we always look forward to our visits, and today’s lunch truly exceeded our expectations.

The cuisine is consistently exceptional, and today’s arancini were among the best we’ve ever tasted anywhere. Each bite was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. It’s clear that the chef puts a lot of care into every dish!

Additionally, the service was top-notch. The staff is always friendly and incredibly helpful, making us feel right at home. Their attentiveness truly enhances the dining experience.

Overall, if you’re looking for outstanding food and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend this restaurant. We can’t wait to return for our next meal! Thank you so much ❣️

The restaurant had a good atmosphere and service was friendly and efficient.

My fish starter was fresh and enjoyable.

Sadly the Lasanage was a real letdown. I describe what arrived appeared more like soup (see attached photo). Overly sauced and lacked structure. This is very far from a traditional lasanage, and felt like an insult to Italian cuisine.

While I can imagine the other mains may be better, I have to question an Italian restaurant which cannot get a staple like lasanage right.

Regrettably, I won’t be returning.

Parents had heard great things about Ponte Vecchio from their friends so we went for dinner when I was visiting.

Whilst it’s certainly a great gem for Tiverton, maybe I was expecting too much as the food unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype.

The lasagne didn’t have any defined layers and was more of a mush. The salmon risotto and the seafood linguine were nice however. Desserts were nice but felt bought in / mass produced.

I’m guessing they were busy as empty glasses were left on the table and we weren’t proactively asked if we wanted more water or wine.

Overall, glad we went but doubt we’ll be rushing back.
