Mexican baked potato was cold. Asked for extra sour cream, didn’t get any. Had to wait on curly fries. Didn’t get until after started eating and guess what, they were cold. Not even busy, one customer in front of us. Night crew not as good as day crew. Day crew is awesome! Disappointing trip to Harlan for a cold dinner. Should have saved my money and ate a bologna sandwich at home!

I have went by this restaurant many times, always wondering how it was. So we tried it! Sorry we did, not impressed!
1. The baked potato was good inside, but if you get the broccoli and cheese, you won’t be happy with it. It was like they opened a bag of frozen broccoli and threw it in, it was cold and hard, almost broke my tooth!
2. Don’t order the taco salad. Nothing like the picture on the wall. For that price I could of had a larger salad at a formal restaurant, with more on it.
3. Condemns and napkins not available unless you ask for them.
4. The mushroom swiss sandwich wasn’t bad

This is the last Rax in the state. It’s been 20 years since I’ve had their food. It was just as good as I remembered. The decor is a bit long in the tooth, but it adds to the nostalgia. The young woman at the counter was polite and took our order with no issues. Worth checking out if you’re going to be nearby.

So gooood! Haven’t been in years. What a beautiful drive off our main route for a treat and it was! The staff was extremely kind and gave us the history on this RAX. Not many left and it’s the only one in KY. Very clean. Restrooms we’re very clean as well

I havnt been to Rax since 1986. Loved them but they didn’t survive past 1994. Found this gem in Harlan Ky. So on my trip from Florida up the east coast I figured in a stop. What a walk through time! Let me add.. the Best manager ever. She took time to take a photo of my crew in front of the sign outside.

My mom hadn’t had Rax in over 30 years. My grandpa used to get it for her all the time back when there were hundreds of these restaurants. Now there’s only a handful left. My mom and I drove here so she could have it again and she said it was the same as it always was. Excellent roast beef sandwich!
