Love coming here and never have an issue with dine in experience.

This pickup order is another story. Requested medium rare prime rib. The meat I got looks like a medium to medium well strip steak. Did not have time to return to the location tonight due to work schedule, hence the pickup order. Pretty disappointed this time. We will try to give it another shot next week.

Call ahead or get on the wait list. It’s right off interstate. You will find ample parking and clean rest rooms, even a family one. Grab a bag of peanuts to eat and a menu to scan while you wait. Start with a cactus blossom appetizer or just enjoy the rolls with cinnamon butter. Kids meals come with drinks, and one adult ordered a kids meal. Order your steaks Medium to Medium well. One child raved about the fries. We loved the food and the service. Drew was an amazing server. He kept our drinks stocked and checked on us. They even cooked the steak longer upon request for our child. It was a reasonable price for a steak place. We heard their crew doing happy birthday to a family. Unfortunately, we didn’t leave room for dessert.

So we came on a really busy night and so our server was pretty good at making sure that we were taking care of at the table she was nice and she was very respectful. My best friend absolutely loved her food when we went and I think I just ordered the wrong thing because I did not enjoy my food. The steak was really tough on my end and overall I just wasn’t very happy but like I said my best friend had a totally different experience than I did and I probably just ordered the wrong thing off the menu. Overall pretty happy with my experience here

Friday afternoon lunch was nice and quiet. My 12 oz ribeye and my guests’ sirloins were very good. Ribs were excellent and tender. Mac and cheese seemed like an out of box mix but passable. The onion appetizer was hearty and fed 4 of us. It was much better than the blooming one from OB. I hope to eat there again soon! Ps Don’t sit by a window, its draft cooled off our food! We got no desserts or etoh. The bill was over$115 for a heart lunch.

The atmosphere was barely 2 stars for this experience. It was not busy at all when we were there. My friend and I stood at the hostess table for quite a while…and the young employees were joking around with each other and talking as if we were not standing there. It just seemed a little odd. I think the restaurant in this location is fairly new and maybe the team of employees are not well trained but I feel as if that hurts the business. Certainly makes for a less enjoyable experience to have employees shouting and laughing with each other and not really paying attention to the clientele. This seemed to happen the entire 90 minutes we were there from the host’s table to walking out the door to leave. Our actual waitress and a trainee were actually quite attentive and appropriate. It just seemed like many of the others made it not a very pleasant experience. Food was fine.

Finally, Waynesboro Virginia has a decent steakhouse. It’s new, staff has been trained really well to be this new. Menu is great, wait staff is ready to take care of whatever you need. Fried pickles are best we’ve had in a long time, the rolls are no joke, side salads actually have eggs on them. The steaks were cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and full count on the ounces!! Cayden our waiter is very personable, ready to go the extra mile. Was a little worried when walking in and the girl at the front door desk was chowing down on some kind of meat!! But everything is great, thank you Texas Roadhouse for taking a chance on Waynesboro Virginia, please don’t leave!!

We tried the new Texas Roadhouse in town during its first week of opening. Food, service, and busyness are about what you’d expect within the first week of a highly anticipated opening. They’re still working out the training on some of the seasoning (for now, may want to ask for light seasoning as they’re over zealous with it on the steak). The steak was cooked correctly, but it was heavily seasoned in salt throughout the steak and that’s all we could taste. Just got saltier as you chewed. The manager was polite and told us that’s how they were trained, to season the steak “from coast to coast.” We believe that a key detail must have been left out of their training of how heavy to salt it, because we’ve never received a steak from anywhere (including other Texas Roadhouses in and outside of Virginia) that thoroughly tasted like salt. The manager suggested that we ask for “less seasoning” in the future without her realizing that this amount of seasoning isn’t normal at Texas Roadhouses. We sent the steak back and had another made, which was better. However, it took so long that we just boxed it to-go after making sure it tasted okay. The salad was also forgotten, until we asked for it, and some of the lettuce was browned already. Drinks, sides, salmon, and rolls were good. Neither the waitress nor the manager deducted anything off of our bill for the inconvenience. I understand it’s the first week, but some core improvements are still necessary and I’m speaking as someone with extensive food service & managerial experience. Did appreciate the staff dancing to “Footloose” when it played. They’re also currently well staffed to handle the first week.

I was at this location on their third day open. I was just meeting people and having a drink or two and coming back at another time for a full meal. The opening few weeks are always insanely busy but room at the bar was a walk by the crowd option. I was sitting just before 9:00 and it was still slammed. Good for them.
I was introduced to some of the employees and everyone was pleasant. I ordered a beer and thought I would have the ribs appetizer. This got confused into a whole meal which they came back and asked if I wanted the half rack or whole and sides. What the hell I will chat and take it home. So if you are looking for a steak review I can’t answer about this location. In my experience at other locations the off the menu steaks are decent. Over seasoned to me but most people love a salty steak and I do not. They do cut most steaks in house but the filet and anything that would require cutting bone is pre-cut and delivered but still fresh and not frozen. I have always preferred picking a steak from the display or much better still. Order one of a size or something not on the menu. This way you get it fresh cut and can request light seasoning so you can taste the steak itself. I like some salt and pepper. That’s it. I also like it no more than medium rare. Order temperature is important because I have had most over done at any chain.
Please remember this is in the past at other locations so just advice on past experience.
As far as what I did order.
Ribs, love them and smoke them fairly often so I know what I like. These were good. No joke, I was surprised. The competition around the corner has the worst pork baby back ribs you could waste your coin on. They were taken straight home and opened for a taste. Well cooked but a little over to me which is what people want. If the bones are not melting from the meat it’s bad to most. This is really over done but they were tender and juicy with a pleasant flavor. The sauce was good and yeah a little salty but it’s pork ribs. From a chain restaurant open on the third day pretty damn nice. Last but not least there was actually meat in there. Thank you for that. I would get them again but I am going to get a bone in ribeye and prime rib before thinking about ribs again. Both in the past have been decent but any prime rib is always salty in a chain restaurant. This is only my opinions so it’s free and may be worth the same. The pictures are of them as soon as I get home and you can see a very clean bone pull right from the to go box before I put them on a plate. This is not a deal breaker at all. Worth every penny which was not too bad on the wallet either.
I will say keep in mind this is not a sports bar to watch the game or hang out. They have strict rules on alcohol and expect you to drink a couple with a full meal but not a cool bar environment. It is more family oriented but their advertising is a bit confusing. I never had a problem with any location but have heard many stories on any beer with an above average abv even being served in their smaller glasses. Try it out and I will be back.
I went back the next week for a steak. I went with the 20oz bone in ribeye, mashed potatoes and broccoli. They had no problem with using a steak that was not pre seasoned. They used just enough to add flavor without being overpowering. Medium rare temp. It was done perfectly. It was rested when it came out and not sizzling when served. It was worth the $. The mashed potatoes were tasty and with some pieces of potato in them and broccoli that was done great to me. Not cooked hard to mush, damn good. Others in the group had a ribeye cooked to medium rare. It was more done than mine and had a saltier flavor but still good. There was a New York strip ordered by another. The strip was requested medium well so it was ruined to me but it’s their preference. The last went with ribs. Their ribs were not as far cooked as the ribs I got a week earlier and were holding the bone pretty hard. They can’t control everything and they were quite good as well. Overall a great meal for all.

We’ve recently moved to the area and tried Texas Roadhouse multiple times, hoping each visit would be better than the last. Unfortunately, it’s been consistently disappointing.
Service is painfully slow, and the famous rolls? Cold our last visit. I’ve come in twice with a baby and both times they seated us in areas that couldn’t accommodate a high chair — which feels like a basic oversight for a family-friendly restaurant.
The food has been hit or miss, mostly miss. I ordered a loaded sweet potato and it came out with just marshmallows — no brown sugar, no caramel sauce, no butter. When I asked for it to be fixed, they brought back the exact same thing with just extra marshmallows. It felt like a lazy attempt to cover up the mistake rather than actually correcting it.
On another visit, my house salad was missing eggs and looked like half the portion it should’ve been. These aren’t isolated incidents — it’s a pattern of carelessness and poor attention to detail.
We genuinely tried to give this place a fair chance, but after multiple visits, it’s clear that quality and consistency are not a priority here.

I’m a month late writing this, but my boyfriend and I stopped in while visiting the area, and the service was absolutely FANTASTIC—and I’m a tough critic. Our server was incredibly helpful when I couldn’t decide between menu items, and she brought us all the bread! A friendly smile and some Texas Roadhouse bread can turn any day around.

My only regret? I forgot the wonderful waitress’s name, or I would’ve given her a proper shout-out. She truly went above and beyond—even running out fresh bread to us as we were leaving so we’d have some to enjoy later with our leftovers.

10/10: great service, classic atmosphere, and amazing bread.
