Fast, cheap and tasty. A classic meat-and-three southern diner. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Excellent value for the price; you can get a square meal with a protein and lots of veggies for like $10. For maximum ambience, eat your food there and watch some Judge Judy.

Affordability, nutritional value, and convenience. Consider these the 3 main pillars of food acquisition. In almost every case we only get to pick two. Cooking at home is affordable and nutritious but not convenient. Fast food is affordable ( though increasingly less so) and convenient but not nutritious. Boutique overpriced sandwich shops popping up around Atlanta are convenient and nutritious but not affordable. JJ’s somehow manages to hit all three marks. It is THE best value for your dollar for prepared food in southeast Atlanta. I am so blessed to live only a stone’s throw away and will continue to frequent this place ad infinitum.

If you looking for fast affordable breakfast then you may end up here got home to enjoy this breakfast as a first timer & realized my eggs were green/grey. Pork chop with no flavor, they literally served cornbread with my breakfast platter. Sooo dissatisfied with this meal.I wish I could get a few dollar I did spend back so I’m willing to forgive you guys.

I recently tried the pork chop rice with oxtail gravy and macaroni and cheese from this establishment, and it was, without a doubt, the most unpleasant soul food experience I’ve ever had. The pork chop was utterly flavorless, and the oxtail gravy lacked the depth and richness you’d expect—it was more of a bland, watery mess. The rice was forgettable, and the macaroni and cheese, which should be a highlight of any soul food meal, was a gloopy, unseasoned disappointment.
Halfway through, I couldn’t stomach it anymore and had to throw the plate away. The only saving grace was the sweet tea, which was decent enough to sip on. Overall, this food was unappetizing, unseasoned, and downright blameful for being passed off as soulful cuisine. If you’re considering eating here, I strongly advise you to proceed with caution—or better yet, not at all.

Went to this restaurant on 11/07/2025. Picked up some scrambled cheese eggs and turkey sausage for takeout. It wasn’t bad. I would return if I’m ever back in the area.

Great prices for what you get, but some of the meat is old and reheated , the salmon patties are 100% horrible so much bread added they taste like dough and the liquid eggs are horrible. As a chef I can honestly say this is a great place for hard working people trying to get something quick, but I would never consider taking anyone there as a breakfast date.

This is a great place to get breakfast that tastes just like you cooked it for yourself and then they have a variety of things to choose from

The only reason this is really 2 stars for me is the amount of food you get.
I think it may be worth another shot for breakfast as I haven’t heard a complaint about that but I was underwhelmed by the dinner.
The cabbage and Mac and cheese has no flavor or seasoning at all. The Mac and cheese was like noodles and canned cheese soup.
The cornbread was sent from hell. Hard a brick and smelled like flour and water. No cornmeal at all.
The beef tips and rice were ok, still lacking seasoning but was able to eat enough to not hungry.
The pricing was good however as this dinner was under $12 just wish it was good

Decided to give it a try again. The collard greens are clearly canned(tastes disgusting) . The cabbage was mushy and flavorless, even tried putting hot sauce on it. The Salsbury steak was OK. I can see why I stopped coming here.
