Went there a few days ago. The guy that took my order at the counter was very friendly & helpful. Had a to go order. The staff brought the food to my table as I was waiting for my food to be prepared fresh. If you want fresh food you must wait & that was fine. Not good sitting in the window all day. The food was sooo good. Definitely will be back

Worse bacalaito I ever had, I asked for it to be crispy and it was very thick, salty and soggy the empanada dough had no flavor and the meat was very oily, this location needs to step up.

Absolutely delicious Puerto Rican food! Aqui Me Quedo is one of my go-to spots in Newington. The food is always flavorful, reasonably priced, and you can genuinely feel how much love they put into every dish. The staff is welcoming every single time I walk in, and it truly feels like a family-run gem.
My go-to order is the Pernil with yellow rice and beans — it’s unbeatable. And don’t forget the hot sauce… it’s so good!
Great job, Aqui Me Quedo team! Keep up the amazing work!

Amazing food, just wish they put a little more meat when ordering beef stew or fried pork chunks. Otherwise staff is VERY friendly & welcoming! Food tastes GREAT. Everything is always fresh when we order as well

FANTASTIC food. All the employees are so sweet and the food is an excellent value. Everything is very fresh and made to order and they even stayed opened an extra 30 mins after closing to finish preparing my very last minutes order (sorry again and thank you!!!) on Super Bowl Sunday. 10000% will be returning.

Just picked up some food from there it was amazing so good definitely recommend!! The man in the front was really nice and helpful with recommending what’s good (no clue what the guy who wrote the rude review was talking about). This spot is a hidden gem will definitely be back!

Aqui Me Nunca Quedo is more like it. I’m not sure if a cook change happened or if this was an off day but this did not reflect authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. Simple staples like roast pork shoulder (pernil), yellow rice and green pigeon peas (arroz con gandules), pink or red stewed kidney beans (habichuelas guisadas). Alcapurria. These foundational menu items should be solid through and through. On this order I received overly oiled and brightly colored yellow rice with no real base flavor. Sazon, adobo, sofrito, recao, pork, ham or bacon were no where to be found in the flavor. Chicharron skin, brutally charred and to burned, even so no hint of garlic or sofrito in the flavor. The roast pork was far too much in volume. In the ratio to rice I could not feed two adults a decent plate, as there was a weeks worth of pork, but merely a nights worth of rice. The pork was on the drier and rubbery side in some areas. The acapurria I received was just mainly yucca, minimal meat so limited flavor. The beans were potent on the other hand, almost as if all the seasoning and spices were dumped there, as opposed to the rice or the pork. Not big on giving a bad review but this was disappointing and not what was expected by recent reputation. At the end of the day given the prices of this resturant, a certain quality should be standard. I would not have shared this with guests if I had ordered this in a bulk quantity, so that provides some perspective. Hopefully, they turn that around.
