Service is impeccable. The staff are warm and lovely. Food was delicious. I ordered the duck au poivre and it was cooked perfectly with a mix of well-seasoned vegetables. It was hard to choose from their menu and I’d love to come back for their lobster and steak dishes! I also had some of my friend’s brussel sprouts and it was amazing. Another friend ordered the mulled wine and while I didn’t taste it, it smelled wonderful.

We should have known by walking in to our reservation at 830 and being the only occupied table on a Friday night. We thought it would be great because we have had superb experiences at Harman’s upstairs, but this couldn’t have been more of an unfortunate contrast. We expected that, since they share a kitchen, the food and service would be above par, but we were mistaken. We both ordered steak & frites and when the waitress asked if we were fine with medium rare, we said yes. Our steak came rare (beyond rare, nearly blue) but the waitress was nowhere to be seen so nevermind the hospitality rule of “2 minutes or 2 bites” because it wasn’t until she finally appeared at the end of our meal (and saw our virtually untouched steaks) that we had an opportunity to mention it. When we did, she basically spoke to us as if we had not ever been out to order a steak before and she insisted that our meat was not blue. Despite the fact that it was chewy and cold to the touch, we weren’t going to argue. She wasn’t the one trying to eat it. We could go on about the burnt fish cake appetizer covered under a mound of slaw to disguise the black edges and bitter taste, or the fact that our waitress plopped down the salts and didn’t bother to explain their differences (again, thank goodness we have dined upstairs so we knew). Enough said. Awful meal. Bad experience. The 10% tip was generous with the server’s attitude and we will not be dining at either establishment again. PS We went back to the Chateau Laurier for a proper drink.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you already know — I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: this place delivers on a fun Friday night. It’s got that perfect mix of energy and ease — open windows let in the night air, the vibe is effortlessly cool, and the food? Outrageous.
Every sauce feels like it was made to bottle joy — you’ll be tempted to dip everything in everything. The alcohol goes down way too easy (dangerously smooth), and the fries? Honestly should come with a warning label. Crispy, golden, addictive.
Now, if you go — and you should — ask for Belle. Hands-down one of the best servers I’ve encountered, anywhere. Sass, grace, intuition — she reads the table like a pro and makes the whole experience feel even more electric.
As someone who eats out more often than in (and I mean that globally), this place holds its own anywhere in the world.

Steak Frite was incredible. Steak perfectly cooked medium rare, delicious. Fries were the best I’ve had at a restaurant. The truffle aioli was decadent and the beef au jus was amazing. Absolutely thrilled with my experience and only $30 + tax and tip on Thursday. Highly recommend to anyone who wants an affordable delicious steak dinner

Cocktails are amazing—beautifully made and full of flavor. Loved the beef tartare, enjoyed the scallops, though the oysters were just average.

When we got in there was no one at the front desk and we had to wait for someone to come downstairs from Harmon’s to seat us.
Our table wasn’t ready so we sat at the bar. In the 15 minutes we were there the servers never acknowledged us or offered us a drink menu.
When we were seated our entire table ordered the steak frites. We only ordered three drinks and the server forgot one. The mocktail was genuinely so bad that we didn’t even mind. It was straight lemon juice and we didn’t even finish it.
The frites are genuinely incredible! But the steak was so so.
If you’re looking for a good Thursday deal on steak frites, just go to Gitanes.

A great ribeye steak special at Abby’s wine bar in Friday. Steak, salad, bread for $85. Steak was high quality with rich sauce. Fries were crunchy and soft inside. Cheddar popover were super flavoral and nice to dip the sauce. Food was spot on and delicious
Wine by the glass is extensive but also expensive. Many red wine by the glass are $25-50……

We eat at Abby’s regularly. It is a small place so reservations are strongly recommended for dinner. The service is always excellent. The menu is small but the food is wonderful. We like the steak fries, and duck. Right now, they have a lobster boil dinner special on Tuesday nights for $49 – I can’t make it at home for this price. A lovely place to dine!

Had high hopes for Abby’s but unfortunately didn’t have the greatest experience there. Had a reservation for a Friday evening. Coat check and hostess service was nice.
Server didn’t really seem to know much about the wines. I ordered the steak frites medium-rare. It came very well done and lukewarm. Our server apologized and had the kitchen remake it which took 30+ minutes. My partner had the short rib which was smaller and fattier than anticipated, but he had to eat his before mine came out again otherwise his would have gone cold.
Cocktails and dessert were delicious.
There was a manager? Floating around continuously checking in to make sure everything was okay even though everything was obviously not okay. They came by a few times and apologized about my steak and said something like the next one “should be here in a moment” which kept turning into many moments…
They did not offer any sort of discount or dessert or anything to compensate for the mistake or delay.
