I love this place. The pupusas were the best I’ve had! Quick service, very nice and attentive servers.

Edit:
I came here for the second time and it did not disappoint. Even when busy, I felt that the waitresses were attentive. The food and drinks (horchata and jamaica) were amazing. Stayed loyal to the pupusas. Bistek was so good, even after boxing it up and eating it the next day. This place got me thinking of moving to Detroit for real.

I’ve had arepas and tamales. before but these Salvadoran pupusas were truly something else! I started out with a delicious pork tamale that was so thick and filled with meat, unlike some skinny ones I had elsewhere that were falling apart. I ordered the three pupusas dinner and the value was amazing for just $12. I had the loroco and cheese, chicken squash and cheese, and shrimp and cheese pupusas. Each one was hot, hearty, and so flavorful. They bring you a bowl of curtido and two bottles of their own hot sauce which went amazing with the pupusas. I was completely stuffed after everything! The waiters are so friendly and I got to practice my Spanish with them. Although, for some reason, you have to ask for the menu with the prices on it.

My children and I absolutely love the Salvadoran Pupusería! It’s one of our favorite local gems for authentic, flavorful food. We usually order the chicken, beans, and cheese pupusas — they’re always fresh, cheesy, and full of flavor. We have occasionally found small pieces of bone in the chicken, but it hasn’t stopped us from coming back. While the service can be a bit slow at times, the food is well worth the wait. If you’re looking for a taste of real Salvadoran cuisine, this place is definitely worth trying!

These are my People and they make our Salvadoran food! Best home style meal in the Detroit area. Next best option would be eating it in El Salvador!

We often ordered take out from this place at my job and then they closed for remodeling. They reopened recently and we went to see them in person. They did not disappoint. The carrot and cheese is a favorite, bit everything is good. Plantains, frijoles and the fried chicken looked amazing, everything was fresh and served hot. The wait is a little long but the service was excellent. Worth the drive!

It’s cozy, it’s authentic, and it’s exactly what I needed on cold winter day after a night out. Delicious comfort food to warm me from the inside, and very attentive service. They filled my coffee three times! ☕️ Nicely caffeinated, with a full happy belly, I was energized and ready for whatever the day was about to throw at me.

Don’t sleep on Pupuseria y Restaurante Salvadoreno, go have yourself a real Salvadoran experience, okay?

Never have Salvadoran food? Good. Go here. Eat the papusas. Put the coleslaw and red sauce on them. Sounds scary, but I promise you will enjoy it. And the perfect meal cannot be without fried plantains, beans and crema. Again, this combination sounds concerning, but it is absolutely delicious. An absolutely amazing restaurant.

Don’t let the outside fool you! They are definitely open. The most filling/tasty meal for under $10 you can get in Detroit. No doubts about authenticity at this place.
