I ordered a Chicken chimichanga. When I opened my box, there was no white queso on top of my chimichanga. I asked the waitress, chimichangas usually come with white queso on top. She tells me you have to ask for it. I’ve never been to any Mexican restaurant and ordered a chimichanga, and had to ask for the white queso that comes on top. So I asked her how much is the queso. Cause realistically I only need 2 ounces of cheese. Which is what their hot sauce comes in. The waitress tells me they only have one size 5 dollars for a queso cheese. That’s ridiculous. I don’t need a tub of cheese. I just need 2 ounces of cheese on a chimichanga so that it’s not dry. I just spent $26 for a chimichanga with rice and beans. Now you wanna charge me an extra five dollars for the cheese that goes on top. I was not happy with my food. The chimichanga was very dry. Totally not what I wanted. Not worth the money. I’ll never get a chimichanga from there again. If you’re not gonna make the chimichanga ,traditional. To what people are used to having a chimichanga, in every other Mexican restaurant. You should let the customer know, that you don’t make it the traditional way. So that the customer doesn’t waste their money on something that they don’t want. because in addition to having an unsatisfied customer. You’ve now probably lost a customer for life. And that customer would not recommend anybody else to eat at your business. also, their chimichanga did not come with guacamole, sour cream, or pico. Those three items are standard with a chimichanga at ANY Mexican restaurant that I’ve been to. All I got was some lettuce with a few pieces of tomato on it. So at Juanita Taquira When you order a chimichanga. You get bare bones chimichanga. No queso on top. No pico, no sour, and no guac. Just a fried tortilla with meat and a little cheese inside. Make sure you have a drink Handy. Or you might choke. Just a dried dish.

Amazing as always. From the tacos to tostadas to flautas. The most authentic Mexican food around. Went again 2/19/24 . Google won’t let me review again so I’ll just add. It was amazing as always the meat was all perfectly cooked and seasoned. For anyone who writes a bad review you might be looking for more like Taco Bell or a corporate Mexican restaurant. You will not find either of those here. Just the real deal.

This is my new favorite spot. I stopped in today during lunch in between meetings and I highly recommend checking them out. Everything was fresh and made in house. Great service and all at a great price. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Update 11-14-24 Still great tacos! I work in Daytona now so I’ll be here weekly.

11-10-19 (Picture 2) Came again and brought 2 friends. Everything was delicious. Not sure if they make their tortillas in house, but they are extremely soft and fresh. They do not put them on a flat top like some places, and let me tell you- I like that they don’t because it works for them. 10/10.

10-17-19 (Picture 1) Very friendly service and fair prices. Clean and comfortable dining area. The traditional carnitas and pastor tacos were very good with lime and green salsa. If you like hot, the red salsa would impress. This place would be a go to weekly if I lived closer.

Great place. Just had American style tacos (Carnitas and Pastor) for $3 each. Great prices. Wife had Tamales which are fantastic. No picture because she ate them so fast. We will be back often

Very good service. We ordered the carnitas plate, and fish tacos plate. Very well cooked and seasoned. The refried beans can use a little more consistency. The orchata was also good.

Cute local dining spot! Food was good and the service was great. Kids loved the food. Only thing I didn’t like was the charges for the drinks. I wasn’t expecting the bill to be that high.

Second time here and I was just as impressed with the first. I happened to find this place once a year and some change ago and always wondered where it was. Got lucky when a friend invited me to lunch and I recognized it instantly. The food is authentic, the staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They are alway pretty busy so you know it’s not for no reason! The chips are homemade and the chorizo is ridiculous! Please give this place a try if you want a good taco, made with care and tradition!

O-M-Goodness!!!
Taqueria Juanita is a MUST when passing through, staying or if you are anywhere within reasonable.driving distance of Port Orange, FL.

If you’ve seen my reviews before I specialize in mom and pop AUTHENTIC Mexican spots.

I’ve discovered another delightful Mexican food gem within this sleepy town.

EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING we ordered was a hit NOT one miss!

We started with mexican aguas – the tamarind, and jamaica were good and refreshing, bummed they were out of pineapple. We moved on with the guacamole which was freshly made and creamy with chunks of avocado. The chips were homemade and freshly fried as well. They brought some house made sauces a tomatillo based one and a red spicy sauce that was FANTASTIC especially for those chili heads.

The kids had chicken and al pastor tacos with the cilantro and onions and a side of rice and beans (the beans were soooooo good and the the rice was tasty)- they were devoured.

I had tostadas – they were cool about making me a vegetarian version – the tostada’s tortilla was thin but definitely crisp and filling, I appreciated the thick avocado slices.

We also ordered the chilies torreados – fire roasted chilies they were sooo perfect.

My husband had the Birria tacos – they had just enough to make the tacos but not to serve the consume on side but we appreciated they threw in a free taco for the inconvenience. He also had the pozole (it was a big bowl and we all got a chance to try the soup it was delicious – this establishment served the side tortillas froed)

our friend ordered the lengua, chicken, barbacoa, al pastor and carnitas tacos with cilantro and onions and all of them were perfectly seasoned and flavorful.

This is definitely worth a stop if you love authentic Mexican food. I know it’s now my go to spot when in area.
