I walked in there was only a table for three already there. I had never been there and I wasn’t greeted when I walked in until after the server was done getting the tables order and I had to ask if I just pick a table or not.
Once I sat down she brought me a menu and I ordered a water. It took a good 8-10 minutes from bringing me my drink to taking my order. I had already sat the menu down and had been ready to order for the majority of that time.
Once I ordered the food came pretty quickly. First the side Caesar salad and garlic knots. The salad comes in a small bowl completely filled witch is great except the dressing was in a small spice dish next to it so there was no way to add the dressing to the salad and mix it up without making a mess so I had to dip the first couple of bites which isn’t ideal. The garlic knots were warm and fluffy and full of butter and garlic, however, with the amount of garlic in it I was shocking surprised at how bland these rolls tasted. They were ok good but definitely not great.
Then came the shrimp panne Alfredo. It was a good portion absolutely no complaints there. The Alfredo sauce itself was absolutely delicious the pasta was al dente as it should be and the shrimp was huge and plenty just how I prefer although, they were covered in sauce and cheese and parsley which normally isn’t a problem however, they were tail ON shrimp and personally I do not understand why restaurants insist on leaving the tails on shrimp in dishes like this turning a non finger food dish into a messy finger meal. Also, the shrimp were a bit tough but still good.
In the process of eating I had been checked on twice once within seconds of being brought the salad and rolls and again within seconds of taking my first bite of Alfredo. After that I hadn’t been checked on until I had finished my meal. I hadn’t to ask for more water when someone finally walked by the table after I finished my meal while they were asking me if I was done. Note by the time I got my meal I was the only customer in the restaurant.
The food is worth coming back the slow service makes me question it. The presentation of food isn’t a deterrent of revisiting just an inconvenience while eating.
Also side note …. The bathroom light wouldn’t come on without flipping the switch multiple times.
Edit: the tortellini bolognese is absolutely delicious while the baked ziti is sort of a let down in flavor and the sauce almost seamed broken to me. I also love mozzarella sticks but they seamed old and stale. If they were fresh and melty as mozzarella sticks should be then they would be delicious as the breading had good flavor. Pictures have been added.
Let me tell you, we were absolutely blown away from the deliciousness of this incredible food.
It was fabulous and arrived hot & fresh. Even my Dad, the New York pizza snob said that’s our new place. Thanks so much!
Just so good.
We ordered the lasagna and chicken marsala, and most meals come with bread and soup or salad. We chose the minestrone soup, and I must say it was delicious! The bread was perfectly baked — crisp and buttery on the outside, warm and fluffy inside.
Our main dishes were not only delicious, but you could tell they were made from scratch, with generous portions to match. I would highly recommend Firefly to anyone in the area looking for traditional, delicious Italian food. Don’t hesitate — try this place!
The pizza had the perfect crust — crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and loaded with toppings. The chicken nuggets and tenders were juicy and seasoned just right. I also tried the wings, and let me just say… finger-licking good. The sauce had the perfect balance of flavor.
Now the pasta dishes? Next level. The chicken Alfredo was creamy and rich, the spaghetti had a classic homestyle flavor, and the lasagna was layered beautifully with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. My favorite might have been the chicken Parmesan — crispy, tender, and smothered in cheesy goodness.
You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve, and it shows. Everything was hot, fresh, and honestly better than I expected. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for comfort food done right. I’ll definitely be back again soon!
The food, SO good. Not only was the food delicious, the new owner was very nice and even made a point to come walk us out and talk to us. Also while there we saw an employee help an elderly lady take her pizza order to her car. You just don’t see this very often anymore. Our waitress was great , very friendly. Highly recommend you go try them if you live in the area! Was a great Bday dinner.
