Welcome to Pastiche. A place to surround yourself with family, friends and the food Michael Engel loves to cook.
Pastiche is a traditional French bistro focused mainly on French fare. With some room to move into Spanish and Italian foods, largely because we have several wines from those countries and We really think Spanish wine goes best with Spanish food. But, mainly, Pastiche is simple French food.

What a charming little restaurant, and the food was delicious! We had the flounder and the steak, both of which were excellent. Our waitress was delightful and helpful. It was also quiet, which is so nice when you are trying to have conversation with your dinner companions. The restaurant itself was very warm, uncomfortably so, but they were aware, so it must have been a malfunction of some sort. Overall, though, a wonderful experience!

My husband and I really like this restaurant. We brought our friend over here with us last Wednesday. The service by Frank and Andrew was impeccable. The chicken and halibut with the perfect accompaniments that we had were delicious. The desserts are to die for. Then add to this, a cozy atmosphere perfect for a tête-à-tête and you have an amazing restaurant. Highly recommend Pastiche.

This place is cozy and has exquisite cuisine. This is another case of the rotating menu options which is great if you enjoy variety and fresh taste in your life. Great place for a romantic dinner or a family gathering. This is a new top pick for us as we had a most amazing meal. The Oysters were also huge we were impressed.

Had the escargot and Oysters Rockefeller…wonderful. Ordered the filet/lobster dish. The filet (ordered rare) was superb, with a wonderful sauce drizzled over it, and the lobster was a fine compliment. My wife had the rack of lamb and she marveled at the delicate taste. We finished with baked Alaska and a peach compote pastry…both were exceptional. The atmosphere was calming, quite, and lovely. I’ve had numerous filets at different venues, and this goes down as one of the top five (rivaled only by The Waterfront in Sister Bay, WI.)

Pastiche is always incredible. The duck breast is my favorite meal I’ve ever had anywhere, especially when followed by the chocolate ganache cake. The wait staff is always wonderfully attentive and kind (shout out to Kimmy especially!), and we’ve never had an issue getting a table. We look forward to coming back soon!

Went for the fish fry today!! It was excellent!! The batter was light and the fish was high quality!! The French fries were amazing. I’d love to know how they make them!! The server was excellent. The staff were friendly and they take good care of you!! My group of three all had the fish fry. But one was the fresh walleye. It was tender and delicious. The atmosphere is very nice. This is the kind of place to take someone special to. It has a large wine list. It serves French cuisine as it is a bistro. Prices per meal are in the 20 to 35 dollar range!! Which is well worth the price for this quality!! The Discerning diner will appreciate the quality offered. I will be back again!!

Upon a recommendation, I brought my wife here for Valentine’s day. Unfortunately, I am reviewing this a year after our visit, so I’m going by memory. I got the duck breast with a pour of Basil Hayden neat. The duck was cooked to a medium/medium well. My wife got the rack of lamb with the house blend red wine, and boy was I jealous as to how tender that rack was. The dessert was absolutely exquisite. As it was our first time there, our waitress (can’t remember her name) was extremely helpful. She offered plenty of suggestions to cater towards our own experience. Our visit was absolutely rememorable, and I plan on bringing her here again.

My wife and I immensely enjoyed the “Le Cession” event at Pastiche. It was well worth the drive from Bay View where they started and are greatly missed. Mike continues to amaze us with his preparation and presentation. The wine expert was the most enjoyable we have experienced at events like this. A special shout out to the servers, Franks bartending skills and a big hug for Angela.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the overall atmosphere, to the welcoming and friendly staff, right through the deliciousness of the meal.
A little more upscale than we usually do for our group, but you gotta splurge now and then. And this was definitely the place to splurge. Very unassuming exterior, yet classy interior with linens and full changing of flatware between courses.
From the host to the server, we were warmingly welcomed and made to feel at home. The chef even came out when we were finished to greet us and ask how we enjoyed our evening. This is a detail lacking in most restaurants today. He was personable and genuinely seemed please we loved all of the food. No ego, no pretention. Just a man who loves doing what he does and seeing others enjoy the fruits of his labor.
I started with a predinner grasshopper. So yummy.
The food was simply amazing. Everyone ordered a different dish and everyone loved every bite. I ordered a salad before my main course and ended up not able to finish the entree. Will make for a great lunch today at work. Three of the group ordered different fish dishes, one ordered a steak, and I ordered the chicken in morel mushroom sauce. I could have melted in my chair from how good the flavors of the chicken, vegetables, and sauce all combined.
Not that I can afford to do it often, but we will DEFINITELY be going back.

Reservations reccomended. Hors d’ouvres, salads, and entrée were delectable. The chef came to our table to check on everything. Don’t skip dessert. The pastry chef prepares masterpieces.
