Food looks bad! Refried beans like if they came out of a can and tossed on the plate with some cheese! Guacamole put carelessly over the nachos! Tacos lack any meat! Worst part they have a sign that says authentic! There is nothing authentic of this restaurant! Should change it to Tex-Mex! I’m not the type that puts down non authentic Mexican food! But this food was bad! It says $7.60 for the platter but charge a lot for soft drink! Now I know why the soft drink was the only thing that tasted good! I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone even to the folks who like Taco Bell style tacos! Servers are also unfriendly! Really bad service! They seem to get annoy when they see Hispanics walking in that’s maybe because we will see that the food ain’t authentic!

Best frijoles ever! I have some every time I come to Mena. I went again today, had it for lunch and took an oder to go. The peeps were friendly and fast.. I do think some ceiling tiles need attention.

I won’t be back. Used to come here, maybe a year ago or so we noticed they really started skimping on things… Where you know they are cutting corners. Well we thought we’d give it a try today… The chili cheese nachos had maybe a tablespoon of watery chili sprinkled on top and maybe 1.5 tablespoons of cheese… It was mostly chips… It was insulting. I let my son finish his food and threw mine away. They play Christian music and it makes good people feel like they should support them… But they are taking advantage of good people. Anyone who says it’s good food because they travel are full of total garbage!! I’ve lived in Houston, New Orleans, West TX and everywhere in-between… Nothing like Tex Mex… Arkamex at best is watery ketchup sauce and enchiladas are made with flour tortillas by locals… This restaurant favors their friends and gives them bigger portions. I’ve known people who have been food poisoned here. Sick vomiting from bad chicken. They did what every bad restaurant does and ” remodeled” a while back… Code for bank loan from poor financial choices… Getting a loan… when that didn’t work they started cutting corners and skimping on what they sold. At the time of my original review in 2019 I could have gotten much more from taco bell dollar menu. Putting a tablespoon of watered down chili dog sauce on $4 nachos was low class unacceptable bad business.

Chiquita’s reminds me of some of my favorite fast food Mexican restaurants, especially Taco Bueno. I don’t think they are trying to be authentic to real Mexican cuisine. Rather, they are doing a great job of preparing good quality Quick Service Tex-Mex /Cal-Mex food like T-co B-ell used to serve decades ago, when all the food was prepared from scratch on-site.

I grew up in Dallas—Fort Worth and ate food like this by the sackful with friends. I love having Chiquitas in town when I visit my place nearby, and end up making excuses to drive into town so I can pick up more of their great food.

Been eating there for 30 years and it has declined, fiesta salad but not given a fork, food was warm not hot and we dined in, tacos were poorly made most fillings were in the wrapper not the tortilla, was mildly busy at 11 am . Not worth the 30.90 I spent. Sad to say food in this town has declined to a point its not worth supporting. This was my last trip. Owner was there in a booth just scrolling on her phone. I drove 70 miles to eat there as I have moved away, guess my move was for the best
