Hyper Local Old Skool Joint! This cozy restaurant and bar is mostly filled with locals and for good reason. The staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere says “we like it this way” and the food is genuinely very good. Highlights include the cheesesteak, gyro sandwich and arguably the best pizza on the island!

We ordered pizzas from Great White Grill, to take home. Great White was recommended by Sanibel locals. We arrived on a weekend afternoon and the place was fairly busy. A number of football fans were intently watching the game from the barstools and some of the tables. The atmosphere was dedicated to Pittsburgh Steelers decor, primarily from their better years, when they were a good team. I remember those teams and it made for an interesting theme. There were fans present with shirts of various teams, not just the Steelers, all of whom were enjoying themselves. Overall, the entire place could benefit from a thorough scrubbing. It simply wasn’t all that clean in appearance. My germaphobic friends should take note of this. As for picking up pizzas. It was fine. We took our pizzas home and all three had burnt bottom crusts. They were overcooked. The top of the pizzas all had a number of large bubbles, indicating skimpy toppings. That said, the pizzas tasted all right. I just wish they didn’t have the burnt crust flavor which dominated the taste.

Second time having the fried chicken sandwich and man!! It always hits the spot. Served on ciabatta bread, it tastes amazing. People working there are amazing and the owner is always there cooking up the good stuff. This place had the beach vibe and super friendly. Definitely recommended and will definitely come back 🙂

One of the worst food experiences I have had in a long time. I over paid lots of money for a couple pizzas supposed to have pepperoni, sausage and other toppings. There were little to no toppings on the pizza. Just cheese. There was so much oil it was dripping through the box I should have returned to ask for a full refund! Deceptive website pictures.

We got to Great White on a Friday night since the locals had recommended it to us, and we loved it! The atmosphere was great, but the pizza was better. We live in Chicago and love pizza so we were blown away by Great White’s quality. One of the people in our group needed a gluten free pizza, and thought it was one of the best gluten free pizzas they had ever had! (just ask for it to be “well done”)
Our son, who is 13, was infatuated with the football themed decor. John, the owner, has a very cool collection of autographed NFL football helmets showcased and for sale. They were super interesting, and kept his interest as John was more than willing to chat with him. I’d highly recommend Great White for beers and pizza to anyone who wants the real deal!

Was told best pizza on sanibel and definitely enjoyed great white pizza side sauce and hazy ipa. Ate at the bar where Comedy Central was on tv. Friendly service. Definitely recommend

Fun atmosphere even if you aren’t a Steelers fan! (Who dey!) Really good food and glad we stopped! Great food…we had a cheeseburger pizza, chicken tenders, cheesy fries..it was all delicious!

Looking for something a bit different tonight my wife and I visited to order a Large Cheese Bacon Green Pepper and Onion pizza, to dine in.
When we entered the place was empty, but quite literally immediately after we were seated the place (maybe 7 tables, and 6 counter seats) filled up in 10 minutes.
Our server, who did not avail us of her name was a blonde woman, maybe 27-34 years old , serving alone.
She was busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger and holding her own very well.
The pizza was served very quickly and came out hot, fresh, and delicious by Island standards (compared to the trash they sell at Island Pizza), and could even be called GOOD in big pizza areas like NYC, Buffalo, Detroit, NJ, and Chicago.
A few drawbacks from this evening.
1. The building (if equipped) needs an AC re-charge, or something else. It was HOT! (Ovens and overcrowding, probably caused this)
2. The table of 2 women and 2 young children behind us were AWFUL. The kids were hot, they were hungry, and they were NOT quiet. Their awful parents did nothing to mitigate this. If I acted as those children did, at that age, I wouldn’t be here to write this review.
3. Their soda machine had apparently pooped the bed. They only had water or alcohol to drink. What self-respecting restaurant doesn’t have sweet tea in the South? Get with the times or go to the store and buy canned soda, and charge a couple bucks a can to customers until your machine is back in order.
4. They bring a weird unbalanced table prop thing that the pizza rests on, (or is supposed to rest on), but it was not ideal, because of how unbalanced it was.
The Food and Service and PRICING were AMAZING!
The atmosphere was definitely NOT…(tonight). 28-May-2024
