It was our first time here and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. I had the Jerk Chicken Gyro and it was incredible. perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat. We’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

I recently ordered takeout from Lyndhurst Jerk & Gyro spot, hoping to satisfy a craving for oxtails. The spot had the highest rating on Google in my area, so I expected a great meal. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

First, I ordered the oxtail platter with fries and steamed cabbage. The oxtail was severely lacking in any sort of flavor, and the steamed cabbage was incredibly bland. It might have been among the worst oxtails I’ve ever had, which was shocking given the high rating of the place.

I also got two jerk chicken platters with rice & beans and fried plantains. The jerk chicken was no better. It had no spice or hint of the bold jerk seasoning that defines good jerk chicken. This was among the worst jerk chicken dishes I’ve ever had.

The disappointment continued with the Jamaican beef patties. They were clearly store-bought and not made at the location, lacking the freshness and flavor expected from homemade patties.

The desserts were similarly terrible. The baklava was dry and boxed, lacking any semblance of freshness. The sweets were overtly sweetened, and the carrot cake was pre-packaged and overly sweet.

Overall, this was a terrible experience. I won’t be recommending this place to others, nor will I be returning.

Oh. My. God. I heard this place was good, but when I tell you the food is to die for, I mean it. The oxtail is so tender and flavorful, the jerk chicken is incredible. The sides are so good too. I cannot recommend this place enough. You can truly tell how much love & dedication gets put into their food.

As a Tourist in US. First time try Jamaican foods. Fresh made. Fresh ingredients. Spacious space for dine in , football table (?) and counter waiting for pick up or dine in. Various menus to try with affordable prices. Extremely sweet and friendly staffs. I got gyro falafel and tasted fantastic. Jamaican puff tastes so good. Peach drink tastes so nice. Jerk chicken with streamed veggies and rice and bean also tasty but not spicy to me at all but spicy for my boyfriend.

Wow! What an truly authentic Jamaican food spot! The cod fish fritters are incredible. Thick, meaty, tasty, etc. The best I’ve had in a long time. Can’t speak to the Mediterranean side since I didn’t try but from what I saw on my visit, it’s going to be all good.

A great experience indeed! Something for everyone. I visited at about 3:45 hoping for minimal wait time and crowd. The wait was not too long but there is a nice place to sit and no crowd .
1 Kids jerk sandwhich with fries
6 jerk wings
1 small oxtail with rice and beans /steamed veggies
1 large curry chicken platter with rice and beans /steamed veggies.
The only thing missing was the festival I wanted to try. I only asked for 1 which is likely odd so it wasn’t in the bag.
Everyone enjoyed so it’s worth a second trip.

Wonderful original home cooking. So much flavor. I really enjoy the jerk chicken. Ty

However if I have to provide one feedback is that the pricing of the meal is not readily accessible to someone having a quick regular meal. A 15 dollars and tax for jerk chicken meal seems little on the pricey side if you ask me. As I am leaving the review I see that there is a promo on the Groupon but not everyone uses Groupon. Lastly when people choose dinner on a regularly, if it’s way above the normal day to day price on a meal, they won’t have it regularly. If more people could taste the quality of the food and not get shy away from 17 a meal. It would be a win win for everyone.

More customers mean faster turn around in food , fresher, and I can have this regularly

I found this spot close to where I was working and wanted to try it out. I ordered my food online of the curried chickpeas, rice and peas and cabbage with a side of festival. I also ordered 2 waters and it came to $14.61. The site said it would take 20 minutes til done. When I arrived I told the man I was picking up and it wasn’t quite ready yet. The server was very nice. It took about another 10 minutes for the food to come out. I got my food and left. When I got in I ate and the food was just ok. I added hot sauce to add a little flavor to it. The festival was just ok as well. All in all I had a decent experience.
